After reading your post, decided to get the darker gray(Charcoal) Dashtopper, actually it was my only choice, did not want to get black or the lighter gray.
Received it yesterday, laid it on the dash and went for a drive, before completing the installation. The reflection was terrible! It was fine in the shaded area, but whenever the sun hit the windshield/dash area, there was the reflection of the whole Dashtopper on the windshield. Then driving a long stretch where there were trees(shade), then sun, shade again, the dashtopper reflecting each time I was out of the shaded area....oh so very, very distracting, not sure if its something someone can get used to. Otherwise, it fits nice, and the Sedona suede was of good quality. Today, I will call the company and inform them about the reflection and ask them to replace it with a black one. I hope that black will not reflect. Not sure what their return policy is.

Try dimming the pilot light. This will help with the glare. NO need for extra stuff to buy.
The dimming light switch is the one that is like a wheel that you roll up(to increase brightness) and down(to dim the light). This is what I did to remedy the glare problem.

Dimmed it all the way down until the glare was gone, and then it was all black! :)
Seriously...keeping it at a very low dim setting, is too dim, not comfortable with it at all...
and that "extra stuff" is nice stuff, and protects the dash from the sun as well.

That doesn't work very well. Helps a little. The dashmat option doesn't sound like it works for nighttime glare either. I came up with a homemade solution on another thread (outside of Prius Modifications forum), with a couple pictures here. It's now beautifully black for me.

The important thing is to have a vertical piece in front of the lower mirror (at least for the >5'7" reflection case), a horizontal addition doesn't really help since it's the horizontal surface causing the reflection.

I have had Dashmat's in our last 5 cars. they work great. One time i ordered charcol, but it still had a little glare. So i spayed 2 light coats of flat black from 2 angles to solve that problem of shiny fibers. So only order black. Yes it does ,eliminate speedo / windshield glare, and is ugly but no more eye stain from sun glare.:D
