[attachmentid=11924][attachmentid=11925][attachmentid=11923][attachmentid=11922]Finally got around to posting pics of my new Barcelona Red '08 Touring with bisque leather interior. Dealer delivered the car on 9/27 and my wife and I have just over 700 miles on it now. We both enjoy driving it and wave at the gas station everytime we go by it. So far, we have averaged 46.5 MPG, but will get better as car breaks in and we learn how to P&G better. We have really enjoyed reading PC and want to thank all for sharing info and tips. I have already de-activated the reverse beep and am enjoying the silence everytime I back out of he garage. The "Red Baron" is shown below in all of her glory.

    Hey!
Yours is just like ours and we got ours the same day! Well, I guess that's not entirely true..We got it on paper that day so we could get the tiny tax benefit. The dealer actually processed the paperwork that day and we picked it up the following Monday..
Don't you love it? That was way more red than I expected but sure like it. So far we too have put the rubber mats in, and disabled the back up beep and seat belt beep (almost two miles from the mailbox to the house)
We also have the side moldings which we haven't put on yet and got the center caps and removed the silver hubcaps..The gray metallic wheels look neat against the red! Oh and you have to try the RejeX wax someone mentioned on here..That stuff is AMAZING! So easy to put on and the bugs practically wipe off and it's made here in Texas I think.
This is our first Prius and love it..
Oh we also put sheepskin seatcovers on the front seats. We had them custom made for the 2005.5 Jetta we sold and they were new in June. I called the company and asked them if they could be altered to fit the Prius..Of course they told me "no, unfortunately the Prius seats are larger, you might sell them with the car and buy new ones" so we set out to sell them with the car. Lucky for us the guy didn't want them so we tried them..They fit just as well in the Prius as they did in the Jetta..Sure are comfy!

    Good luck and enjoy!

For some reason, I thought that I saw a Touring badge on the back of the hatch where the word Toyota is placed for the Touring models. Does anyone know if that is just a badge that is aftermarket?

No..It doesn't come with one. You can order one but it is for the Avalon..I actually have one on mine. I put it in the suggested location, upper right corner of the rear hatch..Looks cool! I paid 18.00 for the emblem..

Hey, you know you can put a carriage-return between your photos, and they won't make us scroll sideways :)

You have to scroll sideways? That's strange..They appear vertical to me..Maybe cause I use a mac?
I almost reposted the pictures in my reply till I realized you have to take out the attachments.

    John,

Thanks for the tip on the RejeX wax. I will look for it and give it a try. This too is our first Prii and we love it as well. We sold my wife's G20 Touring Infinity to a family friend and replaced it with the Red Baron. We are enjoying ti so much that I am giving serious thought to trading in my Infinity QX4 for another Prii. My wife selected the Barcelona Red color and bisque leather interior because she thought the contrast between the two would be nice. We got a very good deal on the car from a Dealer in Oklahoma City. MSRP on the sticker was $28,110 and we paid $26,150 for the '08 Touring Pkg 6. Did all of the leg work over the internet and only dealt with the Dealer Internet Managers. Only way to handle and buying a new car. No hassle at all. I wonder if there is a Prii Owners Club in the Texas/Oklahoma area or better yet, a Barcelona Red Prii Owners Club. It would be nice to visit with other owners and see what inovations others have installed or tried on their cars. I believe since we both obtained our cars before Sept 30, 2007, we are eligible for the $787.50 tax rebate even though the IRS charts only go up to the 2007 model. I think it is just a matter of them updating the chart next year before the April 15th deadline hits. Anyone have any update or conformation of this?

I drive to Lake Fork Texas to Bass fish about once a month. Keep an eye out for the Red Baron and honk if you see me.

Good luck and enjoy driving your red Prii,

    Sliderule (Retired Mech Engineer)

Yep. On Windows, they appear sideways unless the poster puts a carriage break/enter break between the pictures. But I wonder whether the carriage break would be necessary if the original poster used a Mac.

Got to try that Rejex you highly recommended. I read a lot about it. Tried unsuccessfully to get it from a couple of Tru Value hardware stores. Guess I'll have to get it online instead.

Sure? I'm on a Windows machine right now running Firefox and they're vertically stacked to me.

Hmmm. Maybe it's Windows Vista and/or running Internet Explorer.

Either way, picture posters can save others from having to scroll sideways by just putting carriage/enter breaks between pictures.

Must be IE. My Windows XP w/IE shows them sideways, but with FF they're vertical. Also, lately, with IE I have to double click the go back arrow when in a thread to get back to the list of threads, only with PriusChat. But with FF, one click works. I thought maybe it was a problem started from the site going down because my other forums still work with one click. Now don't know what it is.

BOT, nice pictures Sliderule. I still like the red, would do it again.

Thanks! Can you advise as to where to order the badge? I am guessing just online at a Toyota parts supplier?

    John,

Couldn't find the RejeX wax locally so I just ordered it from their website. Thanks for the tip. Can't wait to try it out.

Looks identical to my 2006 Canadian Prius B-Package.
    What are the differences?

The PriusChat.com stickers are also missing :)
