Come next Nov 30 PC is going to have a LOT of members with birthdays!
That appears to now be the default birthday, but the index page seems not to list members with b'days anymore, which I always thought was
    kind of touching and friendly...

    & vs. &

My username was "Sean & Ian." After the upgrade, it shows as "Sean & Ian," with "&" shown as an entity. How can I change this back to "Sean & Ian"?

[Edit] I did request to get my username changed via the advice given way above. How do I change the log-in name? It's also with an entity...

No crashes yet, so that's a good thing.
Where did my 'poster title' go? How come that field is so short? I can't even fit two big words in there.
Is there any way to alter the display of the date format?

Many, many people reported that the Quick Reply was not behaving properly. To be honest, it wasn't. So Danny has temporarily removed it until he can figure it out. Then it will return.

Also, I have a good source indicating that the left-side personal information might be returning soon. By good source I mean that I spoke with Danny this afternoon. ;)

Hmm. Quick reply was working for me, I used it a few times.
Maybe the vanilla-HTML interface was okay and the scripting-enabled
one was screwed up somehow? There's a lesson to be learned here,
    obviously...
    .
As far as finding new stuff -- if I'm trying to track a thread
and see what people have said since I posted, I simply look for
my own posts and then dig in and see what comes after my last
one. Every so often I'll do this for a bunch of threads to see
if I missed a reply, or if it died out in the meantime, etc.
On the new system, the "find all posts by..." link in your own
personal-info is one way to do that, although using the search
engine and limiting the time window is probably less CPU-crunchy.

I'm not sure if you are asking "how do I multiquote" or "what is multiquote." I'll answer them both.

    1. What is Multiposting?
Multiquoting is when you want to reply to multiple people at once. Let's say that you find a thread that's been going on for quite a while. By the time you get to it, it's fifteen posts deep. As you read, you find five posts you want to reply to. If you hit [Reply] on one post, you will only quote that one post. However, with the [Multipost] button, you can select the posts you want to reply to. Now, when you click the [Post Reply] button, each of the posts you selected will be quoted. That way, you can reply to them all individually, within the same reply.

    2. How do I multipost?
In the bottom-right corner of each post, there is a button that looks like this: [IMG]. That is the "multiquote" button. That's the button you click to include that post in your reply. You will notice that once you click it, it will change to look like this: [IMG]. While reading through a thread, click the buttons for each post you want to reply to.
Then go to the bottom of the page and click the button that looks like this:
[IMG]. This will take you to the "Reply to a topic" page and you will see the selected posts already quoted in your reply. Simply type your responses to each one and then click the [Submit Reply] button.

I hoped that answered both questions. Happy Multiquoting!

I'm pretty sure there is. Danny's just not got it set up yet. I'm sure it's on his list of things to do.

Will former profile information return? e.g. year and package of car... location? The stuff that used to show up under our avatars.

    Nearly impossible to register

Something is seriously broken with the Image Verification ("capcha") on the sign up page. It took me over 20 tries to get in; most people would have given up long ago. And no, I don't normally have any problem with image captchas on other websites.

Furthermore, you won't hear about registration problems from people who gave up because the form to send an email to the administrator is *also* protected by a capcha!

    gesticulating gobbledegook regarding google-garbling

I'm having issues with the google maps thread. The posted pictures are tiny, and I can't attach a simple saved image because it's too big. Should I be doing something differently? This game requires large, high definition images, and it's severely hobbled by the current limitations.

Don't see a way to reply to msg, except clicking on that "quote" graphic at the bottom.

I don't want to QUOTE, I want to REPLY. Minor difference maybe, but new folks will wonder what to do.

Also, I miss the "UP" icon that used to appear at the end of each posting as a quick way to get to the top of the page.

    Thx.

    worse

Don't like the new format. I liked the old front page format, with the recent posts on the right, and the headline in the middle, links on the left. Now the page looks like another generic chat site, just like priusonline.com...

What they said...Additionally, what happened to my sig? Is there a backup somewhere that can retrieve it?

AND--the migration cancelled ALL of my pre-existing subscriptions--I have to go back and manually find 'em or can you somehow restore all of the buggers?

Thanks Tony for the multiquote explanation. It's just what I wanted to know.

I also want to thank Danny and all of the mods for all the work you are doing to try and answer all the "bug reports and gripes" that have been posted. I hope people will be patient while Danny works these things out. I am just thankful the site is up and running.

    A two-part post:

    1. Suggestion: A link next to "View New Posts" to view "Today's Posts." CleanMPG, which also runs on vBulletin, has this, so I'm guessing it's an option within the board software. I occasionally find it handy to review my (or others') most recent posts in threads that have had no new posts.

    2. I see some of you who originally had uncapitalized or incorrect display names have gotten them fixed. Were you able to get the "Request Username" function to work, or did the mods change them manually for you? I'm still getting:
Rule Violation: The username that you have submitted violates one of the Username Rules that the administrator has specified.
Danny or mods: Is there some rule I'm actually violating (by trying to get the J and K in caps), or is this a bug?
