Red

    When did the red change colors in the Prius 2? In our lot, there are numerous priuses. One of the reds is a more maroon (purple/brown) red and another is a more "true" brighter red. In looking at the license plates (and assuming that they haven't been changed) it looks as if the darker red was on an earlier year of the Prius and the brighter, truer red on a newer year.

    2004-2005 was the Salsa red. 2006-2008 is the new cool Barcelona red. :cool:

    2004-2005 had the rustic, pleasant Salsa Red (which I have). In 2006, they replaced it with the garish, oversaturated, candy apple lipstick red.

    I have yet to be approached by a Salsa owner who said, "gee, I wish I had that other red color." I've had three Barcelona owners said they wish they had the Salsa color.:p
