I have a question, it said he used to 7xxxk temp silverstar 9006 bulbs. In my past to get to the higher temp lights I had to buy higher wattage bulbs to do so, and thus creating more of a draw on the wires. I fried a wiring harness on my truck one time because the light was drawing so much the harness could not handle it, and it was due to the bulbs.

Has anyone experienced this problem from the higher temp silverstar bulbs?

    Thanks

can you advise on where to get these? I have been searching on ebay and finding 7500k 9006 bulbs, however they look too large for the foglight housing unless I am just not seeing these correctly. Are Silverstars available at standard parts stores?

Yes, I think so (if we're talking about Sylvania Silverstars). They're also available on Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-9006SU-BP-Silverstar-Ultra/dp/B000M5Y720

These Silverstar Ultras are the brightest of the Silverstar line. The Sylvania website says that the 9006 size is appropriate for the Prius fog lights.

my Prius does not have Foglights... I'm adding them soon... but I think I'll go right ahead to hid... since I already installed HID on the headlights... so it matches :)...

I'll post it here once I do it...

I have an '08 and I used the same tutorial. I didn't even need to pull down the black part like the photo. I undid the screws and pushed the black part inward and stuck my hand inside. It took about 10 minutes to do both sides.

I have the regular Silverstars and they are a good match. Don't expect to see a difference from the driver's seat, though. Looking at them head-on, they will match very well. Keep in mind, the Silverstars take a minute to warm up to maximum whiteness.

The Silverstars I had on my Volvo lasted 3 years. But I didn't have them on all the time. If you run them day and night, then yeah maybe 2-3 months. If you only run them at night, longer. If you only run them at night, on certain occaisions, even longer. The Ultras are supposed to be brighter and last longer. They may be worth the extra money (+$15 I think).
