I'm trying to read a new PM and I get this error.

"You have empty profile fields that are required to be filled in. Please visit your profile page to update these fields."

I then go to my profile and see that my car model year and package are now blank. I change those and then save the changes but I still get the same error and when I got back to my profile again those fields that I just changed are blank again.

    It's a vicious circle. Help!

Weird. Make sure you are clicking the Private Messages link instead of pressing the Back button.

I'm clicking "View New Posts", but I'm getting the same old posts, with no indication that I've already read them (and, there are no new postings in them)...
This is weird, because before now, it was working perfectly, even with the bonus of the divider "These aren't new since you were here last, but they still have unread posts" section.

Having same problem when trying to reply to a message. It lets me log in, but then when I try to post I get into an infinite re-login request loop. At least once I got out into the "profile has empty fields" message, went to profile and updated, but changes don't stick. Tryed changing password, didn't seem to help.

Same problem here. The new posts are not showing up and the forum index continues to show that there are new posts.

    Changes since yesterday morning

After the fix of yesterday things are really screwy now! I enter my password and the entry recycles then I have to put in my name and password again. Didn't do that before.

When I select to read all new posts it tells me there are no new post but tells me to press HERE to read all post of the last 24hours. I then get to see the new posts.

I don't know what you changed but it was not for the better!:mad::mad:

I'm working to try and fix the issues. They appear to be cookie related.

If it's any help, Danny, I've noticed that I get a 'non-logged on' screen after I sign in, but if I then click on the PC logo, I'm directed to the main page and I'm now showing as logged on. I can post to a thread, even though the screen I'm seeing does not show me as logged on. Weird, yes, but I thought this might be a helpful clue for you.

Are you able to successfully log out? I've been trying to log out, but it doesn't seem to "take".

When I go into any sub-forum, it looks exactly the same it looked when I last was there; ie, I need to hit refresh on my browser to see which threads have new messages.

I think so, but to be honest I'm not entirely sure. There are times I've come back to the site several hours after logging out, only to find I'm still logged in. I get the 'goodbye' page when I log out, but that doesn't seem to mean much. I also get the 'hello' page whenever I log in, but never a message to say 'you already are logged on', even though I think I am. I'm finding this with both macs and PCs from several different locations, so I'm not sure how much it has to do with cookie settings on individual computers.

There also seems to be some kind of 'time out' feature that kicks in with long posts or PMs. Obviously I have to be logged in to send a PM, but I'm mysteriously not logged in by the time I hit the send button, and the PM is gone.

    Length of signature files

I went into my user CP to see if I could change the typeface to something smaller. It would not allow me to make the change because of a limit of 500 characters.

If I have to shorten my admittedly excessive sigfile, Commander Scott is going to cuss me out good, so I am leaving it. I would like small typeface to lessen its impact, but I will not do it if I have to shorten it.

And since I am making more modifications, it is going to get even longer . . .

While logged on, clicking on links takes me to pages that indicate I'm not logged on. When I click on 'refresh', I'm there. Still doesn't solve the problem of vanishing posts, but we're making progress.

Sounds related to my issue - it appears that often on revisits of pages, I'm getting cached versions instead of new ones.

I hit refresh on the browser and I get a new copy, but the last couple hours the server seems to be responding very slowly.

I keep getting a message telling me I must update my user profile before I can proceed; however, whenever I go into the update section and add the information and click "save changes" it merely reverts back to the previous profile and does not save my changes.

I have been enjoying using the new style - I generally always use the View New Posts function and it took me a little time to find the Quick Link to mark everything as read. A couple of resets due to the new software did not bother me, in fact, very happy that I only had to do so few resets.

This is more of a wish rather than a direct gripe, but....

When I have a number of pages of new threads, when I select a thread to read, I cannot return to the page that I linked from. This has been really noticeable to me recently when I can only get to the forums every two or three days. It may be better to give an example - so today I did my usual connection, hit View All New Posts, saw that there were 15 pages of new posts and started scrolling through them. Got to a thread that looked interesting (on page 7 of the new threads), read the thread, but to get back to where I was, I can either hit the back button on my viewer, but then the thread is not marked as read by me, or I can hit the View All New Posts and go back to page 1, and then scroll forward to page 7 again (provided that I can remember which page I was on). Being able to return to page 7 would be really useful.
