    Indicator Icon

I'd like to see when I'm in a sub-forum page and I've posted a message to a specific thread is to at least see an indicator icon next to the subject title that I had posted a message within.

    Is this possible?

The site was unavailable tonight at about 7:30 pm EST. It slowed down, then wouldn't come up at all. I was still able to access other web sites without problems. It seems to be part of the evening slowdown problem.

    Speeeed!!!

The presentation and features of the new board are more appealing than the former one, but my gripe is speed, mostly of the time takes 10 to 20 seconds to refresh new pages or to load new ones, I think that if there is more that 15 sockets open at one time, I can start seeing my beard grow do to connections bottle neck. My 5 cents.

I'm having trouble jumping to the end of the thread. It looks like I'm all the way to the end and the number at top will say page 386 of 386 but then when I hit reply it sends me to another page (387) which has three other posts on it. Also in one thread (the Previous Poster Insult game) it won't give me the option to post at all. The message box comes up but nothing after the gray bordger, no button to "submit reply," no smiley faces, no anything.

Also, not to appear to be piling on, but....

When I post to a thread and click on the thread title to exit the thread, I have to click page refresh (at the browser level) to see any changes to the forum from other users posting while I was in the respective thread.

Even with these aggravations, I think on balance, the upgrade was worthwhile - I have had no where near the number of events of not being able to access the forum that occurred previously.

I have logged in (obvoiusly) but cannot post in the Phoenix-AZ forum. When I try to post a reply I get asked to log in again and it will not accept my login. It says I have entered an invalid login. I am not able to find the join link mentinoed in the garbled how to join message.

This is a new problem just in the last few days or so:

When I open my browser and go to the page listing all the forums, and then go to the Main Prius Forum, I get the version of that page I last viewed. I have to click on the Reload Page icon to get the current version of that page. I never had to do this with PriusChat before, though I did have to do it with my own web site when I had one.

I don't think I've changed anything in my browser settings.

I believe that there is a setting at the server which tells a browser whether or not there has been a change, requiring it to reload the page.

Also, I, too, have experienced intermittent slow-downs. Sometimes pages load fast, other times they load extremely slowly.

Something odd is happening with the database or the script access to the database. In addition to the slowdowns I've been complaining about, I am seeing a pattern to missing and reappearing posts. I'll use this thread as an example:

    http://priuschat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40696&page=3

When I click on view new posts, the thread above was listed. I clicked on the last page and it took me to page 3. There was one post on page 3, so I clicked on page 2, then back to page 1, because I couldn't find the post I wanted. When I went to click back to page 3, it wasn't listed: gone, poof, just like that. Many of the posts on this thread are not showing, but if you link to them directly they are there. Something is fishy.

I haven't tried to do anything, but I can now read my PMs again. :)

It looks like the car information is now optional instead of in the required portion of the profile.

    Fixed that.

The rest of the issues you all are describing are related to a cookie/cache problem. This weekend I am going to try and re-install the site and see if that fixes things. In the meantime, my suggestion is when you see old information on the page you're on, scroll to the bottom and look for

The time should show basically the same time as your computer shows. If it doesn't, then the page you are on is pulling from an old cached version of the page. Try hitting Shift + F5 on a Windows machine, or Shift + Refresh on a Mac. That should refresh the page to the latest version.

I am sorry for these problems and hope to sort them out this weekend.

I was trying to add a avatar today, and when I click on the save changes, it goes back the way it was (radio button for no avatar is set)

Never mind, though it doesn't show in the preview, the avatar I chose does show up on the post. Don't understand why it didn't show the change when I made the change, though.

Danny, that seems a bit extreme. I'm not familiar with vBulliten myself, but I have been on another forum with similar issues with caching and page reloads. I am pretty sure there is a setting somewhere which should fix the issue. I'd hate to see you reload the software and end up not changing anything.

Sorry if this has been mentioned (and addressed) before but one of the things I miss about the old forum is the ability to search within a thread. Are there any plans to bring that feature back?
