OOPS! Maybe if we PriusChatters would read all the posts in a thread, we (ME) wouldn't be complaining about the same problem over and over.
    Sorry Danny. :)

I solved my PriusChat/cache problems by setting my cache level to zero in Firefox. Fortunately, with a dedicated, symmetrical, 10 MBPS fiber-optic internet pipe coming directly to my house, I have the speed not to worry 'bout no stinkin' (or stickin') cache.

Ok, the page cache issues should be fixed now. If anyone is still having issues, here are the steps to remedy it:

    1. Hit Log-Out. Now you may or may not show as being logged out. Don't worry.
    2. Go to http://priuschat.com/forums/mycookies.php
    3. Check all of the options and hit "Delete My Cookies"
    4. Now you should be on easy street. Try logging back in
    5. If for some reason that didn't work, try deleting cookies on your browser then clear your browser's cache.
    6. If that doesn't work, report back here with your exact problems and let me know what they are.
Sorry about being MIA the last few days. I've been huddled in a corner crying trying to figure out how to fix these cache/cookie problems.

Thanks, Danny. I'm certain it's been more than a bit trying of late. I promise to keep some gripes to share later if you ever long for these days again.

Nah, the gripes are fine, I can take them and for the most part I understand them and want to fix them. The thing that gets to me is when I know it's something I NEED to fix and I CAN'T figure out how to do it. I'd like to think that I'm pretty smart, but this weekend was frustrating and tough. Now I can only hope that the fix works for everyone.

Can you tell us which PC cookie or cookies should be deleted specifically to fix the cache and what the consequences would be of removing *all* the PC cookies (my browser has nine of them)? For example, would one lose the record of read and unread posts within a topic?

    Thanks.

Just as a data point - cookie issue is fixed for me. I didn't have to clear Firefox's cache or log out although I did do a page refresh on each forum. Thanks Danny!

Check out this post - it outlines how to fix the issues:

    http://priuschat.com/forums/showpost.php?p=533478&postcount=362

There aren't any consequences to removing all of them. They will all be re-populated once you log back in to the site. All of the Unread Post stuff is handled by the database, not by cookies. We've had a cookie-based system for Unread Posts in the past, and it was horrible.

    To the administrator/founder PC guru....
I wonder WHY I can't upload a picture now to insert in my signature as always I had and meanwhile I can see other members with pictures and logos on theirs?

    MrBigH(oracio),
I've hacked around with your signature. It looks as though your image was still using the old image tags. The new software requires a different image tag. I also centered it.

    Consumption Screen Questions

We just bought a 2008 package 2 Prius & we love the car. I do have some questions on the consumption screen - how is the avg MPG calculated??, also just to the right of the avg MPG is a mileage figure that keeps changing. Right after we bought the car we took a 1400 mile trip and I swear that this mileage figure reset itself at some point automatically. If so what is the mileage point it resets & can this be changed?? Also, when the car come to a stop there is a whine as it stops. I assume that this is the electric motor coming to a stop. Am I correct??

Thank you for this site as it is very helful for new owners.

    Thanks.....Phil

Your questions and concerns are common of new owners, and are nothing to be worried about. With a little searching here you'll find those questions asked and answered in many different ways :)

You did, however, post them in the wrong thread... which has happened a few times in this thread already, which leads me to another software upgrade issue:

Since the upgrade, this thread has been headlined in the Announcement tab... I think that it's attracting new memebers to post comments about the car, so maybe either the announcement should be taken down (since most people know about it by now, and it seems the most major issues are mostly worked out), or reworded ("Welcome... post likes/dislikes" might sound inviting to a newb ;) ).

For the life of me, I can't get my sig to post properly. Simply using the tags works on the preview, but in my actual posts some additional html shows up, which ruins it. Help?

Shown here with just the img tags:

I'm not sure why there might be differences between the editor and when it posts. I removed the extra stuff and it seems to work.

I just realized that I'm not getting email responses to topics that I reply to. Since I'm on a half-dozen or so sites it sometimes takes me awhile to notice. I've checked to make sure that my profile is set up for the reply option and always make sure that the option is checked when I reply to a thread. Am I missing something? Also, I checked to make sure my email address was entered correctly and it is.
