I fit the whole thing in my Prius. I went to pick it up (used) and it all fit nicely, and the hatch even closed. The headboard fit nicely in the rear with the seats folded down, and everything else layed on top. Even the two end tables fit on top of everything. The previous owner was shocked that it all fit in the little Prius.

    Ah, the Moebius Car!

Yes, people are always surprised at exactly how much can fit in the Prius.

Same here, we picked up a new 9ft Christmas tree (in box) @ Costco & when I pulled up the guy was like no way. It fit just fine & we got the hatch closed!:D Think we shocked him a bit:eek:

I you can fit an 8ft ladder in there, you have to use bungies to hold hte hatch down because it almost closes all the say, but not quite!

Assembled yes, but I fit a disassembled queen bed (head and foot boards and frame) in my Prius and got the hatch closed. Granted it took some tight maneuvering but we got it all in there.

I also second galaxee's comment about how nice it is having a hatchback when moving. I got my Prius right before I moved and I was so grateful to have that versatility.

That's the length of a queen size mattress and also the length of the longest pieces (the side rails) of the Malm bed. The Ikea stuff is flat packed, usually in boxes that are only a fraction of an inch longer or wider than the contents. You can fit an 80 or 81 inch long thin box into the Prius at a diagonal or over the center hump into the front seating area. Anyway, the OP bought his used, so he didn't have to deal with box size (though I think it would have fit even in the original packing boxes).

In July of last year, I bought a house and filled it full of Ikea.

Here are some of the pics.

After I left Ikea, I went to the TV store and fit a 32" LCD and DVD player on top of all this other stuff.

I bought 2 Malm dressers and a Diktad crib and fit all of them in the Prius w/ hatch closed... I didn't take pictures, but it surprised even me that all that fit in the Prius. Credit goes to the Prius for all the usable cargo space, but you have to give credit to Ikea too, for packing all their products so tightly.

When we remodeled our house, we went to Ikea and bought furniture.
At the time, we were driving the Buick, but we fit in a dining table, 4 chairs, two buffets, several small tables, a couple of bookcases, and various "OMG that's too cool!" items.
I do have photos, of the car loaded AND with everything laid out on the ground, but it isn't a prius, so I won't trample protocol. :)

In Ikea, have any of you seen the Green parking spot (next to the blue disability) for hybrids?

I went to the Ikea in NJ off the Turnpike and did not see such green parking spots.
