You have to take into consideration of what the "shipped" price is. I had a customer tell me that when he purchased their product, the shipping was close to 100.00!!

Please understand that these items are NOT mass produced and are basically fabricated one at a time in relatively small production numbers.

Thanks, Danny, I sent the e-mail off to you. I hope others are finding the ordering smoother.

I hope to get the brace and the skid plate installed before a trip to Death Valley in a few weeks. There will be some serious driving and mountain passes to cross, so I hope to field test the Brace and (hopefully not) the Skid plate!

    Brian and Danny,

I ordered the BT Tech Strut Tower Brace:), but I must say that the PC Shop pissed me off a lot:mad:.

First it says that the price is $250, and in bold red letters with an exclamation point: "Shipping Included!". Then when I went to checkout, it said that I had to pay a $30 flat shipping charge.

I ordered it anyway (with the $20 discount for having previously bought the Stiffening Plate). I figured that at $260 delivered, it's cheaper than the approximately $350 I'd have to pay for the TOM's Strut Tower Brace delivered. But I added a comment about this shipping charge discrepancy/bull. It's deceptive. It's bait and switch. It's probably illegal. Moreover, it's not the right way to do business, especially among friends.

    Brian and Danny,

Sorry about the angry rant about the shipping charge discrepancy (it's been a rough 08 for me). I know you're both good people, and deserve better. I should have just pointed out the discrepancy, and asked that it be corrected.

I bought one of these from the Prius Store and can't wait until it arrives so I can see the difference.
    I will keep you advised.

Thank you for your order Tom... I have sent over an email to Danny and Nichole about your concerns on the online store. I am sure that it is a simple oversight and will be corrected shortly.

    Hello everyone,

Just an update.. I have received a limited quantity of our BT Tech skid plates and our BT Tech Strut Tower Braces. I am going to install each of them on another Prius to confirm that everything fits and functions as expected.

For all existing orders for these two new products, we expect to begin shipping by next week.

Remember that if you previously purchased one of our BT Tech stiffening plates and wish to purchase one or both of our new products, you are entitled to our "Loyalty Discount" that will save you some money. Please see the links listed below for complete details.

I just finished up installing one of our BT Tech Tower Braces on a customers car and everything went together perfectly and the fit and finish is superb. Here is a picture showing the completed installation.

Now that I confirmed that our production part fits without any issues, this product along with our skid plate will begin to ship next week.

How long did the install take you? How long do you think it would take someone who's not removed those parts before?

The installation of our Strut Tower Brace took me about 45 minutes from start to finish and that was with me taking my time. Everything is actually very easy to get to and I just finished writing up the instructions including what tools one would need to complete the installation.

Care to post them? I think it would help alleviate some anxiety people would have about doing the install...me included.

Here is my second revision of the instructions for our BT Tech Strut Tower Brace. Once you have the parts and are in front of the car, the install is really quite easy.

The instructions are well written and seem quite straight forward. I am eagerly awaiting my strut bar. Thanks for making a nice bar for our poor little cars.

We have not shipped any yet as I wanted to install the first production brace on a local car so I could confirm that everything went together and fit properly. I also wanted to fine tune my instructions so that anyone with basic mechanical abilities would be able to install this part with minimal effort.

The picture that I posted really does not do the part justice. It is OEM in appearance and the fit and finish are excellent. When I designed the strut brace, I wanted to make sure that one could access both the brake fluid resovoir as well as the coolant tank for normal maintaince without any interference from our brace.

The first of our backorders for this product will begin to ship this coming week.

    Brian,

FYI, I received my BT Tech Strut Tower Brace a few minutes ago. Looks good. Many thanks.

Because it's cold outside and I don't have a garage here in NYC, I probably will not be installing the Strut Tower Brace until sometime in the Spring. Or I might ask my mechanic/body shop guy to install it sooner. In any event, I'll post my impressions of the brace as soon as I have some.
