Actually, I'm less dismayed by the human race when I consider the prevalence of greed, as I am when I see that nearly half of U.S. voters voted for W. Twice.

It has been written that we taste like pork. However, ETs, who will necessarily have evolved without any prior contact with Earth life, would probably find us to be quite toxic.

Guilty as charged! I absolutely cannot stand the sight of pink meat, and actual blood oozing out of a roast beef means I automatically reject it. I like my food well done

Um, I think that proves my point

    Thus the well-done roasting instructions!

Are you sure we taste like pork? Hmmm, I would have guessed beef. Let's hope I never have to find out

There's actually a fairly extensive literature on the subject. I kid you not. I'm really rather surprised that you were not aware of it. But I have no personal experience. I've never eaten human flesh myself. But for that matter, it's been 40 years since I ate meat.

Oh, I believe you. I just have never thought of searching on the topic of what humans taste like after being cooked. I suppose if we ever become truly overpopulated the Soylent Corporation will begin cranking out tasty little food bars, made from you-know-what

Did you see the movie Serenity, based on the tv show Firefly? There is one scene featuring part of a commercial for the Fruity Oaty Bar. The song is almost hypnotic ...

I've seen the movie. I quite liked it. I don't remember the song.

I learnt much about the future (and humanity) from the Twilight Zone.

That sounds quite British, as they overcooked everything. Us Montanans like the locally raised and butchered meat bloody.. Hey, for you Brits, what does 'Bloody Good' mean?
By the way, I love the British but I prefer Mediterrean food, which has flavor.

Not British, but there is a strong British influence in Canada. My Mom - who was Canadian - raised me on well-cooked meat and Red Rose tea. Hard to break habits

Mediterranean food is not bad. But nothing compares to Indian food, and only Mexican can even hope to compete. When I moved to Spain from Mexico the food seemed tasteless by comparison.

London is chock-full of great ethnic restaurants, probably because traditional British food is so dreadful.

Okay I remember it now. Is it supposed to have something to do with eating people?

It means very very very good.
Just like bloody hard means very very very hard, bloody wet means very very very wet, bloody hot means very very very hot, etc.
As a child my food was cooked till it had no flavor but now I like to taste my food. I now enjoy brussel sprouts where I thought they tasted like dirt when mum cooked the guts out of them. Meat cooked properly should have clear liquid come out a stab wound not blood but it should be dark pink inside.

That was the impression I had. The tv show I remember one scene where they had landed at a port, and a vendor had a sign up "Good Dogs!" guess what he was cooking?

I grew up on Italian food, thus my med preference. Spain? What happen??
It is some of the best food in the entire world. I go there just to eat. I also cook it at home. I agree, thou, on Indian food. Mexican food, all we get in the states is burrrrrrritos and tamales. And they all taste the same no matter who cooks them. I took my 11 year old daughter to London last March and she loved those ethnic restaurants. Then in the summer I traveled Great Britian with my 13 year old son and we ate at the Pubs; not too bad actually but I rather dine on Mediterrean cuisine.
