I have a unique problem with the AM radio in our Prius which does not happen every time we go out. But when it does it is very annoying.

Where we live ESPN Sports Radio is on 1320 on the AM dial. I have it set as a preset and after listening to this station for approximately 10 minutes the sound stops coming through the speakers. No sound at all, not even static. The radio remains turned on. I can switch to any other station and I have no problems, only on frequency 1320 does this happen. If I manually set 1320 instead of using the presets the same problem occurs. If I manually set the radio to 1310 or 1330, no local stations broadcast on these frequencys, I receive static for as long as I leave it tuned to these frequencys. After about 1 hour if I go back to 1320 I can again listen for around 10 minutes max. As this his does not happen every time we drive, it makes it very difficult to show the dealer, even if we did and he pulled the radio and sent it out for reparir it would probally work fine at the repair shop. Any ideas?

That's a wierd one if it's actually the radio. Are you sure the station is not actually going off the air once in a while? I can't imagine a radio would have a problem with only one frequency, they don't work that way. Take a transistor radio (let's see, do they still make those?) with you and see if it still picks up the station while the car radio is having problems. If the other radio receives the station while the car radio does not, I'm at a loss for suggestions, other than if the station always drops out at the same place in a commute... could be the signal is being blocked by something between you and their antenna. Good Luck!

I expect your radio doesn't like sport and it falls asleep. :D
I know how it feels, try a news or rock music station. (Not many rock stations on AM I guess)
