Hot climate means air conditioner. That for me is a MPG killer. My winter consumption is 4.3L/100km but summer is 4.4L/100km.

Some Hypermilers get better than 100mpg for a tank.

i gues when you life in a place where there are a lot of hills you can drive up EV mode and drive down regenerating.

i also want to now of the prius with al the options DVDnav/voice response/ and jbl audio and stuff uses more then a standard one
this is al running even when your not using it.

Sorry you have that all wrong.
    Repeat after me

Never try to drive on electric only if you want good economy!

I never touch the EV switch except to quietly back out of my garage.

Ok so a relative newbie here but I see all these L/100km posts and cannot get less than 5.2-5.4 L/100km average now thats combined city/hwy under reasonably average conditions, as much glide as possible and playing with slower speds electric in city but nothing extreme. Is this considered good or should I get better? 2001 with 100,000 km on it, bought it used.

The 04+ models officially get better mileage (Although Frank Hudon here with a 2003 beats a lot of us lol).

Mine's mostly city driving with most of the highway down to the States at 70mph (I get 5.1L/100km at that speed).

    I'm currently > 5L/100km because it's winter.

I think that Elkhart, IN is a flat area. This makes a big difference. If you are in a hilly area like I am in Cincinnati, it is more difficult to make those numbers. Not to take anything away from you DiamondLarry, your numbers are great.

Are you in a flat or hilly area?

Last fall, I was able to pull out some 70's MPG niumbers here in Cincinnati, before it stared to get cold.

After I drove home from filling up across Happy Valley I had to take a picture of the MFD.
