I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to get the MFD to display lifetime MPG in addition to MPG since the last time I pressed ther reset button. I see lots of folks quoting lifetime MPG's. Are all of these reports manual calculations, or does the Prius computer track and report this?

I'm at about 183 miles driven so far. MPG's for this first tank are around 42 so far. But as you know, this number changes constantly.

No, the MFD doesn't have that capability. Most of us who report lifetime MPG do so based on cumulative fillup calculations.

And many of us who do that actually use websites such as greenhybrid.com to enter the fuel pumped and miles traveled. The site keeps trak of the history and reports both the lifetime MPG and the individual tank MPG. Additionally it allows the entry of various information you might want to keep track of such as driving conditions.

Actually, the MFD does keep track of lifetime MPG if you don't hit reset after you fill up. The miles traveled will reset automatically after you drive some, but not the MPG.

I realize that. As I quoted in my response, the answer was to this question:

The MPG reading automatically resets after fill ups in the 04 and 05 models.
