Mine came today! I won't get to it till Saturday 2/16/08, but the instructions seem easy to follow. A few pictures posted by one of us who can install and photograph would be good!:)

    Thanks,

    Lee:cool:

Good idea re photos! I nominate you or Cairo94507 or any other warmer-climed owner , as I won't be installing mine until the weather warms up here in the Spring.

Boo, I'll try my best to get photos as I install. It will be sunny and low 60's tomorrow, perfect weather for work on the Prius Mods.

Cairo, the brace will come in a long and skinny box, about 48x6x4 in size and the nice looking pieces entombed in bubble wrap!

My Skid plate hasn't arrived yet, so I'll hope the good Dr. gets his on and the potos posted to help.

I've got the house to myself tomorrow and don't need to leave for work until 4pm. If I wake up at a decent hour my plan is to start putting it on...and hopefully finishing.

Allow yourself at least 2 hrs if you are going to install this yourself. If you run into any issues or have any questions while doing the install, please feel free to contact me at the number below and I can walk you through it.

I had a really hard time taking pictures of our skid plate installed due to the dark black powdered coated color of the part. I look foward to seeing your pictures and perhaps we can put one of them up on the PC online store to replace the one that I took!! :)

You had me nervous for a second!! :) Please PM me with your information so I can check our records if your BT Tech strut brace shipped. We have a good number of them currently on backorder as I am waiting for more parts to arrive from our machine shop.

My install is done! 'twas a piece of cake with the included printed instructions. It took a little more than an hour with taking all the pictures. You will need a torque wrench too, and a wench to hand the tools to you would make the job go quicker!

A quick test drive gave a tighter feel to the steering, and slalom type maneuvers seemed more responsive.

Fit and finish are flawless. More later. For pictures, click here: BT Strut Tower Brace Install (by Gadgetdad) - a photoset on Flickr

    Lee,

Many thanks for posting the photos of your install. They're great. Really helpful for a simpleton like me.

Your preliminary review sounds like what I was expecting.

Thanks again. I'm writing you in for President in November.

    Hello Lee,

Your install looks GREAT!! Like I mentioned before, once you have the car right there in front of you and you read the instructions, it really is not too difficult as I took a lot of time to write the instructions so that they are as easy to follow as possible.

There is a lot that goes into designing these products and if you noticed, I made it where there is sufficient clearance of the brace so that you can access maintainence items easily. The design criteria was to make this part and have it look as OEM factory as possible without any compromises.

Thank you also for posting your pictures as this will be sure to help others that install our BT Tech strut tower brace!!

I plan to update the pictures I posted in the link above with discriptions and comments along with the instructions Brian includes with the parts.

I will be taking the car out for a more elaborate test today, but the true test will be on a nice windy mountan road. Perhaps the Old Priest Grade on the way to Yosemitee!

Check back in a few days for the updated pics. --Lee

I just wanted to import to this thread Frank Boyle's positive reviews of the Strut Tower Brace, Stiffening Plate and Skid Plate that he installed on his Touring Edition:

I just placed my order yesterday and pictures with each step would be a big help .Your current instructions are good and i think i will not have a problem .In the interest of good business to help customers and also to move customers who are on the fence about buying one i think step by step pictures would go a long way .I think the first 4 steps where things
have to be removed are holding people back as most stb are just a bolt on
and this is a bit move involed not alot just a bit .What do you think Brian???It was also a pleasure speaking to you yesterday.

Gadget Dad's pix are pretty good. I'll be getting mine in a week or two and will be updating the instructions with pics too.
