This church's activities defy description. They do the same thing at military funerals. Fortunately, a specific biker group and others decided to provide an escort for families and remains of Soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice. They force Mr. Phelps to keep his distance.

 

The man is the dictionary definition of evil. I can't wait until he's finally caught in a bathroom stall with Larry Craig.

 

Sorry Scott but each time someone visit's this guy's hate filled site and reads his filth a counter registers the visit and this encourages him to publish more of this vile garbage. This guy is the lowest form of filth that exists and probably gets a thrill each time he Google's his name and counts how many times other sites mention it or links to his site. Fred Phelps is a pervert whose "church" mostly consists of his own family. His daughters are lawyers, and he makes his money by taunting people until someone takes a swing at him, and then having his daughters sue them. When the gay community caught on, and spread the word, and then just ignored him, he started going after the families of soldiers who had died in combat. If they eventually start ignoring him, he'll find some other group to incite.

I agree with Kow's suggestion to Scott: Summarize the Phelps filth if you want to, but please consider editing your post to remove the actual link to his site, as hits to his site just encourage him.

Phelps and his ilk think that gays are responsible for all that is wrong with the world. I am personally surprised there have been no attempts made on his or his family's lives. I'm surprised he hasn't blamed climate change on gays.

 

If he had set his sights on hicks and ferrals that might have happened. He is picking on a pretty innocuous group isn't he? Why doesn't he set his sights on the NRA? Most likely a member but anyway...

 

It's only a matter of time I think. He'll picket the wrong funeral and they'll get "done runned over" by Cleatus and the boys........

 

I remember Rev. Fred Phelps back in the early 80's when I was an undergraduate. He would come to our campus once a year and yell at the students passing by, calling the men homos and calling the women whores. A very charming man.

His act is pretty transparent; trying to get attention by saying outrageous things.

The best thing to do is ignore him. I won't click on his link.

 

These types of people are directly responsible for my unqualified support of parents eating their young, even after they grow up.

The Bible doesn't say that incest is ok, as patsparks claims, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to learn that there has been a powerful lot of that going on in this family for a long, long time.
