If you could have one day to "do-over"...

What's stopping you?

 

The only do-over day I want, is a day I spent with my DH... just because of the incredibleness of it all. Yup, I would do that one again.

 

I'm reminded of Groundhog Day when I read the topic title.

 

Wedding day, I wouldn't turn up.

If my wife is reading this I'm joking.

 

I have a number of days I'd like to do over: Some of those days hiking in Canada were really fabulous. And the day I had dolphins swimming just inches away from me.

Unfortunately, it's winter now so I can't do them over right now. But time marches on, and summer will come, and I will be doing those days (or others much like them) over again.

You can't change the past (was that what you meant? If so, no point regretting what's gone by), but if circumstances permit, you may be able to repeat it. Some things you can do over and over and over again. Of course, you gotta save some days for new stuff also.

 

There was that one day that I bought a Toshiba laptop. I wouldn't do that again. That thing was a POS.

The day I decided to go to law school, instead of pursuing or trying to find work or a profession that I would love doing. I grew up poor, so I mistakenly thought that all work would suck and that its only function was to pay the rent and put food on the table. The romantic middle and upper class notion of trying to find work that I would love doing was a completely foreign concept to me.

 

So, are you doing what you love, now?

i almost wish i had accepted a different admissions offer in 2004. this setting is grating on me more and more.

I would do over Nov 11 9 pm -12 9 pm 2003.

I would not take my dog to the emergency veterinary hospital. If I did, I would not let the vet keep my dog after the prognosis of cancer. I would have driven straight there and picked him up and taken him home so he could die in his own bed with me holding him.

 

Last year, the day a fair lady I met on a dive trip to Lady Elliot Island asked me to stay a little longer. I'm returning next month...

Yep. Couldn't become a rock star ("money for nothing; chicks for free") or center fielder for the Yankees (again, "money for nothing; chicks for free"), so I became a lawyer --- the default profession for an entire generation.

 

revenge= getting out of academia. good enough for me. faculty here tend to hate that.

i think after 19 years of graduate school, i would probably go completely out of my mind too. but being demeaned in front of your peers by an advisor... standard for the territory at big name universities.
