yes and today i tested it with a battery tester i got from the store
and it also told me that the battery needs to be recharged because its realy weak of simple BAD.

well i do some testing and when i am 100% sure then i go to the dealer again and confront them

i have reported this before, but when my main 12 v battery seemed fried
and i got stranded at least once on it, i drove to my local toyota dealer
in sunnyvale, ca and bitched about it, they removed the battery and actually tested it, found it to be bad and they replaced it free of charge
and even gave me a coupon for a free external detail

its a 2007 prius 1 year old with 25,000 miles

i think the cost of replacing the battery is perhaps making you all
worried and not even trying to ask the dealer about it.

throw the dmm out, take the battery out to any place like sears and
have them test it, the dmm will just tell you the voltage, it wont print out
    mulpital pages of diagnostic informeration

the dealer first told me when i reported standing still because of 12 volt battery drain that i get a new one under warranty
but first charge it to FULL and have a look if it happens again AND that i need to drive longer then short trips every day because the battery is small.

then when it happened again i reported it and got the story that he is not sure if its under warranty but ended telling that if its defective then i got a new one
and got it tested with the dealer telling me that the battery is OK but needs to be fully charged
and if i don't agree thy need to have the battery over for 1 day to a better test and then maybe get a new one WHEN its a really bad battery.

Now i charged it overnight and got a 12,67 volt i waited 10 hours and its 12,7 ( nothing connected to it during charge and the 10 hours period )
so there is no drop in voltage over a longer period so its not discharging itself to fast. ( one simple way to see if the battery is bad - to high discharge level )

so now i am going to do a amps test and see what that brings.

The best test for a battery is to properly charge it, then perform a "load" test. The tester applies a certain brief load, say 150 amps, and looks for how much the voltage drops during the test. Based on that, a good/bad judgement can be made

If the battery tests good, something is draining it

that test only gives a idea about the high discharge

and what you describe is the tester i got from the shops
and it dropped way don't to WEAK/BAD after i fully charged it ( no more then 4 amps charger and after that a drop charger )

so now i am getting a new one.
