JBL amp hot even when not used

    today i have driven 70km's and did not use the radio
    so it was OFF

    after the drive the jbl amp under need the front passenger seat was hot.

    it this normal? i shutoff the radio and the amp still waisted heat?

    That's not normal. I know there were some issues with the 04 (and maybe 05) models that had to have the amp replaced as it was draining the 12v battery when the car was off. Have you been experiencing any 12v battery problems?

    Yes, you have a faulty JBL amp or a faulty installation. Search here for much discussion on how to fix this.

    yes already searching
    but for now no topics on how to test it be unplugging the amp....
    there is a casing around it ii can not remove at this moment

    Maybe the amp is angry you're not using it enough.

    here you can see a lot off info

    Prius JBL Audio system response, specs, and photos

    and that the amp is always on because it also provides beeps when pressing buttons on the MFD

    so thats why its hot

    thats normal

    i can test my battery drain problem when i disconnect the larger plug on the amp where the power line's are connected on
    (info also on that website )
