No More Agree!!

    It is a nice relief not having to hit Agree! Thanks to my salesman at my dealership, I dont have to hit Agree in my 2007 Prius. He found me a copy of the U32 DVD maps , I couldn't be happier! :D It sure was nice of Toyota to finally realize that the Agree part of the Nav was annoying, now I just wish they would get a clue and change software so that you can still input/operate Nav to a higher speed like 25 MPH, then they would have the perfect car.

    haha its the new 7.1 DVD Maps but it has a BIG U32 on it and my old one had U31 on it...:typing:

    Did you have to pay for the upgraded maps? I thought the price was about $250 for the new edition.

    I hate the "I agree" screen, but I'm not ready to fork over $250 yet.

    I will pay the $250 if Toyota also remove the speed-driven (5mph to be exact) gray-out of keys.
    My MAZDA CX-9 has the same problem because both NAVI systems were made by Denso. "I AGREE" is a simple nuisance. Graying out keys is a major major inconvenience for people on the move.

    Well, on the other hand, if it keeps some idiot from trying to drive and enter a location into the nav at the same time, maybe it's a good thing. I do agree that a switch to make it available to a passenger while at speed would be nice, though (like my Garmin unit, for example...)

    It'd be great if there were a button on the passenger side (that only the passenger can reach) which would allow entry by the passenger. You could have some sort of timeout, where the Nav keys will be "un-grayed" for 5 minutes after the button is pressed, and this would only work if the button was pressed while the vehicle was in motion.

    That's a pretty simple control law to implement, and it would add so much functionality to the system.

    Better yet, don't grey out the controls when the car is moving if the passenger seat has an adult weight in it.:thumb:
