I programed my 2005 Prius (pkg 6) garage door remote (the 3 buttons that is on rear view mirror) to open my Liftmaster garage door opener. that was made in 2003, they work with remotes that was 390MHz.

now i have a new house with a new liftmaster garage door opener that is made in 2007. the frequency is now 315MHz which makes my old garage door remote useless. however i thought the prius would have a pretty big range of frequency that will allow it to work with the newer openers.

can anyone confirm what the remote on 2005 prius frequency range is?
so far it seems they can't learn the signal on my new opener.. maybe i can adjust something..
    any advise?

nakago12, welcome to PriusChat! I don't know about frequencies of garage door openers, but I presume you're talking about your Homelink rear-view mirror. You might want to visit the Homelink site and see what you can find there.

The Homelink will work with your new doors. However you need to erase the old setting first and then just program the buttons just as you did with the old doors.

I don't know the answer to that question but I have a related one. I have two different garage doors but lost the remote to one of them. I programmed the Prius with the remote I have -- now I am wondering if there's any way to program in the other one without the remote.

    I would appreciate any suggestions

Since it "learns" from the radio signals of a remote, I suggest you find a remote to replace the one you lost and use it to "teach" the Homelink controller. :sorry:

Many of the garage door openers have a "teaching" mode that would work in your case. Usually, it is an actual button that you have to press on the opener and it will only stay in this mode for a short period for security. Find your manual or go online and it should give you instructions.

Most likely you have a garage door opener with a rolling code. You need to follow the rolling code procedure in the manual to link your Prius Homelink to the garage door opener. This will require the remote that came with the garage door opener and you must also press the "learn" button on the door opener itself. It is all explained in the manual.
