Intimidated at traffic signals by Large trucks?

In North Palm Beach Florida I am the one doing the Intimidation.

I pulled up alongside a Ferrari and behind a Large truck (4X4) and they did everything they could to leave me behind.

Maybe it was the Green License Plate in the Front Window (suction cups) or the Green License Plate on my Front License Plate Bracket.

Regardless, I stole the Ferrari's thunder, with my Prius.

Without seeing video I would have to suspect that while you were at least keeping up with the truck, the Ferrari was either toying with the truck and ignoring you or ignoring both of you.

Somehow I suspect that if the Ferrari were doing "everything it could to leave you behind" you would have been left VERY far behind. It's 0-60 and 1/4 time have to be 100% better than the Prius. Why waste the gas trying to keep up?

BTW, please don't post stuff like this. There are idiots from hot-rod sites that troll this forum just looking for BS like this...then they start making fun of all of us like we think we drive a fast car...after a while someone comes up with the 'genious' idea to start trolling us and it ends up being a big PITA mess for all of us..and a hell of a lot of work for the moderators.

Face it, you don't drive a hot rod...and that's OK. The Prius is a perfectly functional car for all purpose use, it gets great FE and has low emissions...but it is not a race car, never has been, never will be.

    Traffic

Sunday near the Beaches brings some serious traffic.

They couldn't leave me behind, so I stalked them for about 3 miles.

Your right, I didn't scare them much, maybe irritated them a little.

    Meaning of GLP

Its just a blank Green License Plate made from recycled milk jugs that stands for supporting the environment.
For some reason it drives eco-haters crazy..

You know one thing I like about the Prius?

If you beat a performance car from the lights in a Prius you can tell your friends about it but if a performance car driver beats a Prius is he about to go brag to his mates?

You are right Evan, the Prius is no race car but it will jump off the line quicker than people expect the economy car to get away.

I don't need to beat a Ferrari at a stoplight.

I beat them at the gas pump.

    Hi William D...,

It looks like the Ferrari was held up by the blue civic in front of it. So, do not think the Prius has any chance of staying caught up with that Ferrari.

In traffic, any car can use circumstances to get ahead of any other. The problem is allot of people with more powerful cars think they should be ahead of a slower car, and pull all sorts of dangerous illegal crap to get ahead when they clearly and legally have lost the right of way.

Do not mess when them if and when they seem to be paying attention. Around here the Ferrari guys are some of the best drivers. Its the non-work-truck pickemup and suburban people that are the big problem.

I have a NOS sticker on my Prius, so that gives me a good 15hp advantage over a stock Prius. Plus, I have the Touring Edition, so that makes me a better driver. I almost forgot, I also removed the plastic hub caps and emblems which is good for another 5-7 hp. I am not scared of any Ferrari.

I would have to agree. I once had a guy in a mid 70's Vette with a 427 that decided that he didn't want to drive over 20 mph and wasn't going to let anyone pass. I was driving a '95 Neon and I did figure out how to get around him by using the traffic to my advantage. When he saw that I had outsmarted him with a car with 1/4 of the horsepower, he did give me a grin and a thumbs up. Bottom line though, I've grown up since then and don't even try those things with the Prius.

I goosed my Prius today while cruising in town, next to a 5-liter Mustang. I did it for a laff. The Mustang driver couldn't have that, goosed it, and left me behind. It was all in good fun, and to let one person know that hybrid cars are not slow.
