So, I was driving today, and while waiting at a stoplight, this guy in a newish Malibu was really giving Rudy a look-over.
If he'd been looking at me, I'd say he was seriously checking me out, but he was really checking out my prius! There was some serious lust going on there....

There is this lady that has a little boutique next to my real estate office. She drives a Porsche Carrera Convertible and thinks she is hot shit. Today while pulling into the lot, she was outside smoking. She actually said, "nice car" to me. Huh, you drive a freakin Porsche Carrera! And convertible no less. I think the gas prices are really getting to people after all.

Today on the news they interviewed a guy who just bought an H2 Hummer. "It has a 36 gallon tank", he said, "and gets 6 miles to the gallon. It is going to cost me 140 dollars to fill the tank". His passenger says, "I am glad I don't drive". :D

So there's the answer to the Frequently Asked Stupid Question: "When does the Prius pay for itself?" For me, at about 12,000 miles a year and gas at $3.00 a gallon, about five years.

For folks living in places that don't have snow and/or who drive even more, it's even faster.

I think my Prius is cool!

You know what would be cool? To have variable tint in the windows, dark in the day and clear at night.

You know what would be cool? If the Prius had a height adjustable seat. Oh hang on, I live in Australia so mine has a height adjustable seat.:boink:

You know what would be cool? If Prius had a cooled glovebox so I can keep my drink cool.

You know what would be cool? If my MFD still worked.

Yeah, that photosensitive tint does sound cool. Good idea, Pat. How about an electrostatic windshield that repels water and eliminates the need for wipers?
Internet access on the mfd would be cool. And playing dvds. (Not necessarily while driving, of course.) :nono:

What IS really cool about a Prius is that if I get it set in my head to prove to everyone that a Prius is NOT slow, I get 42 MPG, and the next day, I can pretend that my foot is a feather and get 50 MPG.

You know what I think would be cool? Salma Hayek in the passenger seat.

I dont have a prius YET, but would love to see a 5-speed. I would also like to see an rpm based cruise control ...:)

Besides that 5-speed, how about a 2-door hatchback Prius --

Just take the same body, lengthen the 2 front doors & eliminate the rear doors.

And don't forget that 5-speed. :pound:

You know what would be cool? A secret high-powered molecular changer gun mounted in the grill that would turn Escalades and Hummers into rabbits. Sweet, cute little harmless bunnies...

I want my Prius to have a sound effect on the outside when it's in stealth mode. You know, to avoid sneaking up on pedestrians, etc. But not just any sound effect- I want the sound George Jetson's car makes. I think people would just collapse laughing when confronted with a Prius playing that sound while gliding around a parking lot!

Then you could run the bastards over!!

rather than a 5 speed which is old tech and rather anti HSD what about an economy/sports mode and/or simulated 6 speed sequential transmission where downshifting increases regen like light braking, and up shift boosts engine RPM by a few hundred over ultimate economy, with sports seating and 5 point harness, lower suspension, handling option 2 mode suspension geometry. When in Sports mode the ICE would fire as soon as the foot came off the brake pedal when stationary ready for quick launch and traction control would allow some wheel spin and would be far less aggressive or quicker to power back up. Also sports mode allows speed limiting to run the car up to 125mph slightly over speeding MG2.
