I am seriously thinking of purchasing a Prius. I have driven a friends but have not yet gone to the dealership with family in tow to try it out.

Has anyone been able to put a double jogging stroller in the back? This is my only concer with this car is that my stroller wont fit. I have the BOB revolution dualie, and use it ALL the time.

Please let me know, if it wont fit I dont know what I will do...I can afford to keep filling up my Explorer!!!! Gas here is just shy of 3.80.

I'm assuming you need it to fit with the rear seats up.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think it's going to fit. Going by these dimensions:

    Folded Dimensions30.8 x 38.8 x 19"
    Folded Dimensions w/out wheels30.8 x 33.7 x 13.2"

the limiting factor is the distance from the back of the rear seat to the hatch, which is right around 30" when measured at the top of the seat. You should take your stroller to the dealership and try it and see if it fits. It'll be close - maybe it will fit, especially if you don't need the 30.8" dimension for the full 13.2" height (i.e. the folded stroller is wedge shaped).

If it doesn't fit and you still have your heart set on a Prius, you might try something like a hitch-mounted bike carrier.

Take a look at the second post in the below linked thread. The poster says that it fits in the trunk of her/his Prius. I assume, but do not know, that the poster is referring to the current Gen II 5 door hatchback Prius, and not the older Gen I 4 door sedan Prius:

BOB revolution Duallie? - Twinstuff Forums

You can sign up with that forum and send the poster a personal message asking which model Prius s/he's referring to.

You can also take your stroller to a Toyota dealer and see how it fits.

Off-hand, knowing the maximum dimensions of the stroller folded up (30.8" x 38.8" x 19"), I think it fits into the trunk area of the current Prius.

Yes. In fact, tell the salesperson that you won't buy the car unless they can get the stroller to fit.

They will get it to work. :D

The BOB Revolution Duallie is a major modification of the original Bob Double Jogging Stroller design devised toward urban residents that need a maneuverable and durable stroller that is also perfect for jogging. I live in New York City and I jog with my kids to the park and it just does its job well. The Duallie offers a 12-inch front fully rotating swivel wheel that locks into a fixed position for better grip while jogging or during off-road use is genius.
