    Nice dude. I am glad to see owners out there enjoying their Prius and trying new things. I am sure there are a lot of othere members out there saying "why?", but who cares what they think. Thanks for taking pics and the tutorial.

    Very cool... Could you post a link on the exact Video lock pick that you used.
    Also I wonder if a PS2 Slim model would allow an unmodified glove box.

    Here's the link... LOCKPICK 3

    My wife had the same question... Here is my answer.

    Why just put in a DVD player, when you can have more options for less cost? It's also pretty cool to play a racing game in the car...:car:

    Very cool.

    So the inverter is the one where you plug the PS2 in and it has a 12V adapter that goes into the car?

    Are there more pictures or more detailed steps? It seems simple enough (esp. if it's removeable so that I can transfer it from car to house and back as needed). Mine's just sitting next to the TV now that the Wii's in the house.

    Thanks...
    The inverter takes the ac current from the car and makes it DC for home appliances. Its also been useful for soldering and the gluegun in the car.

    For more details, did you see the install guide on the first post I put on this thread?

    ahh ok. Yeah cause I'm wondering how you plug in PS2s and stuff when it uses a 110V 2-prong plug vs. the 12V cigarette adapter. I mean the voltage isn't an issue, the plug size is.

    Yeah I did, hence my question. The first set of instructions were for the glovebox. The last page was the actual install. I only saw a bunch of wires and read something not wanting to mount the inverter permanently. Can't figure out why and how you get around the wire (I'm a total noob when it comes to circuitry.. which is why it takes me forever before I get around install electrical stuff like my footwell lighting or EV mod until I see a step-by-step DIY set of instructions done by the PCers)

    So for a 2008 Package #2 I'd have to get the
    ULTIMATE LOCKPICK 3
    FULL MULTIMEDIA WITH VIDEO AND AUDIOUNLOCKEDComplete Plug-In Kit for 2006-2008 PRIUS
    AND 2007-2008 RX, GX,LEXUS SUV'S
    (for Prius with navigation system OR JBL audio system OR factory rear view camera)
    $229.00?

    It looks to me that the $99 Lockpick is "FOR USE WHEN MULTIMEDIA VIDEO AND AUDIO INPUT IS NOT NEEDED"

    Although I don't have the nav system or JBL, it emphasizes OR factory rear view camera, so I guess this is the one I'd have to get.

    I'm curious how the video ipod works, is there an adaptor to fit it like the dice ipod integrator? How about touchscreen and steering wheel navigation? Will this lockpick allow me to hook up a nav system?

    Ummm......inverter takes DC current from car and turns it into 120 volts ac current for home appliances.

    Does the Playstation actually run on 120 volts or does it step the voltage back down to 12-14V and 5v? If so would it be better to use power supplies that convert 12-14 volts to the required voltage which saves a lot of heat losses in the inverter. Please correct me if I am wrong, I'm just guessing this.

    I'm with you. Doesn't the PS just run on a DC wall wart?

    We have 2 X boxes and 2 nintendo game systems but no PS so I'm not sure.

    BTW, I love the idea of PS in car. What a great way to wait for a friend or whatever.

    DC=Direct Current (Battery)
    AC=Alternating Current (Wall Outlet)

    The Prius 12v outlet is DC. The inverter changes the 12v DC power source into a 110v AC power source.

    Yes, it does run just on a simple DC plug, however, i went with a larger inverter because I also run my video projector out of the same setup for movies in the park.

    When I do the stereo install (and find that d*mn REM wire on the back of the stereo) I'm planning on hardwiring a small inverter into the rear storage compartment, and then running the PS2 off of that.

    I'm just a rookie at alot of this stuff, so i'm figuring it out along the way...
