,,to get my wife a Prius of her own! Mine is less than two weeks old but she wants one! so anyway we were going to get into her 05 Jeep Liberty Sport and take it to Toyota to maybe get a deal on her own hybrid and her car wouldnt start!

Just clicking! a string of them fast like. She thinks it is a sign not to go. It's the first time her car has ever had any problem at all.

A long stacatto clicking. lights come one but dim a bit when she tries to start. I think it is either the battery or the starter.

Now she is all upset at me! why me? I dont know!:smash:

Sounds like a dead battery, did you try to jump-start it?

I would think thats a positive sign to buy a new prius. Isn't it ranked #1 in reliability? Where's the Liberty, 50th...

I didnt because I wasnt sure it was safe with the Prius to do that. I told her it is a sign that the jeep is soon to start with the problems so we need to trade it now. She wants one but is spooked. I will try to get it jumped tomorrow.

Doubt it's the starter. You wouldn't even get the clicking. You would turn the key and get nothing.

our sister in law came over and we jumped the jeep. It started fine. so it is just the battery. we will see how it is tomorrow and if needed go buy a battery. Thanks all.

You don't need a battery if you're just going to trade it in anyway. :D
