For all of you that were the first to place your order for one of our BT Tech Strut Tower Brace, I am happy to report that they have shipped out today!! For most of the orders that we received last month, you should have received a UPS tracking number for your order.

We have more strut braces that are due to arrive next week and I should be able to ship all pending orders by then.

Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!!

How much weight do all these products add to the Prius (and possibly decreasing fuel mileage)?

:playball: Evan, with my pictures and your experience with the skid-plate and others, you should be able to knock it off in about 40 minutes or less. In fact, if you assemble all tools before, have a buddy hand you the tools and parts like a surgical nurse, you might pull it off in 20 minutes!

    Go for it!

Thanks for the encouragement. I don't doubt it would be pretty quick. But as of now I'm hanging out about 70 miles away from the prius at my lake house and won't be home until Sunday.

If I'm gonna get my pretty hands dirty with the strut brace I'm gonna do the new extended skid plate chin at the same time....so it'll be at least an 1 1/2 to 2 hour project. And there ain't nobody that'll be much help as a scrub nurse...my 8 year olds like to help, but don't yet know the difference b/w a socket wrench and a screw driver!

I received mine today at about 11:30 AM and installed it from 1:00 to 2:00.
I have worked on cars all of my life for fun, so I know how to use a wrench. I had an issue with the fitment of the bar against the black relay box which attaches to the pan you remove under the wiper motor.
My strut bar actually has like a tool mark sort of indent on the passender side where it bends to connect to the shock tower, which looks as if it may have been tweaked a little bit. Perhaps that was what made it a pain to fit the relay box back in. I ended up having to loosen the shock tower brackets and the bolts connecting the brace to the tower brackets and then slip the relay box in and tighten it down and then snug all the remaining bolts. It is a tight fit.
I also have the TRD suspension in my car and was thinking that may have changed (slightly) the position/angle of the strut tops....maybe causing the tight fitment issue. Just a thought.
After I drive it a while I will post my thought re any changes.
Thanks BT Tech for making this part for us. It really does look as if it came from Toyota as stock.

Adding almost 24 pounds by installing all 3 of your products seems like it would really take a hit on gas mileage. Does it?

24lbs is an essentially unmeasurable effect on FE. I guess instead of 67mpg this tank I might be getting 67.2...but no, it won't hurt your FE measurably.
