South FL weather is where this baby belongs. Just purchased a new 2008 1224 (Package 6) in Classic Silver with Gray Leather. I'm practicing all the conservation techniques - Pulse & Glide, pump up tires, combine short trips, etc. and seeing improvements all the time. Only put 60 miles on it so far (bought St.Patrick's day) and see 43 mpg average. Need plenty of practice so I'll likely take a day trip this weekend. :D

Sounds like you already have much of the lingo down! You'll see an mpg increase as she gets broken in + - 5K miles maybe. Lots of good info right here - have fun!:clap2:Remember to not use your engine brake to slow down - wastes watts. Welcome! (alliteration!?)

Welcome to the club, and congrats on your new Prius (good color choice)!

In the short time I've been a member, I've found Priuschat to be an invaluable resource with some really helpful people.

    Question about ACC mode

Thanks for the encouragement. I love this car. Traded a Trailblazer SS because (you guessed it) it would pass everything except a gas station. I love the way the Prius encourages me to drive with a goal. One question I can't seem to find in the archives - How do you get into ACC mode? How can you tell when you are actually in ACC? Does the dash and touch screen stay
    active?

    Thanks

    Re: Question about ACC mode

Without the brake depressed, push "On" once for limited Accessory, the MFD will come up, and a limited number of other features, then press "On" again (no brake) for almost all electrical features, including windows, etc. Press "On" a third time to get out of Acc mode. Good questions - glad to help!:D
