With very few exceptions, I think that every man that drives a Prius is smart, sexy, responsible, kind, and charming.

And every woman that drives a Prius is gorgeous, intelligent, thoughtful, considerate, and dresses well.

We are all apparently superior people, since we drive Prii :p

Okay…I have to ask – what on earth is so "interesting" about a woman in a cubicle??? Is it some kind of jailed female fetish?

I'm not in a cubicle, but a fairly small office that probably passes for one except for a few extra square feet and a nice window.....although the view is nothing to write home about. But this thread and mention of pictures caused me to take a look at mine, a pic of my kiddos when they were little(they are in their 20s now), and then there's one of me and *gulp* my ex-girlfriend with whom I broke up a couple of months ago. In all honesty, I had not even noticed nor given it any thought. Jeebus. Guess I'll get rid o' that one.

And for daniel, who probably isn't listening or following this anymore, but dang, man, you are waaaaaaayyy too rigid and inflexible and set-in-your-ways. Not only that, but you seem to take pride in it. I'm all in favor of the axiom "to thine own self be true", but when we live and interact in a society of other human critters who are running around trying tothemownselvestobetrue, things don't work out too well. Women in nice clothes and sportin' a bit of warpaint? What's the big deal or harm? They are probably nice people, certainly some of them are. Besides, few of them dress that way all the time, makeup and clothes are changeable and temporary. And consider loosing the pony-tail and at least occasionally dressing nicely. I did the long-hair thing a few short years back (not in the 60s when I should have.....too busy being in the Army back then and it just wasn't happenin'), and when after a couple of years of fighting with the scraggly stuff I cut it off, I couldn't believe the number of women who came up me (not in a come-hither sense, just being friendly) and told me how much better I looked "cleaned up". Must be what that term "he/she cleans up nice" comes from! You'll have your day if you lose the attitude. If you don't, you probably won't.

My .02 worth, and I hope I don't come off sounding harsh. I've been there. I'm speaking from some experience as a guy who had probably a grand total of three or four dates prior to my 25th birthday.

I thought one of the only fringe benefits for grad students was that you could dress however you wanted to. I used to wear shorts about 10 months out of the year when I was a grad student.

one of? it is the only benefit :p

but when you're trying to convince your committee that you'd like to graduate soon, it's good to start acting like it.

Some of us REALLY LIKE pony-tales on guys.
    Like, really.

Hell, I've just about snapped my neck whirling around to look at a grey-haired "old guy" with a (clean, neat) pony-tail or braid. If it reaches the waist, woo hooo! Oh, and young guys with nice, clean, neat long hair... yum!

[apologies to all the guys that feel like sex objects right now. sorry.]

[oh, and yeah, DH has a nice braid]

Like Bratt Pitt in "Legends of the Fall", Daniel Day Lewis in "Last of the Mohicans", Mel Gibson in "The Patriot", Sean Connery in "Medicine Man", etc.? lol

Plenty of men with ponytails out there who women swoon over. ;)

Well, well, well, this goes right to our actual topic now, doesn't it?

Soooo, if a guy like that drove a Prius, would you want him even MORE?

    hmmmm?

Would the Prius even matter if you saw a guy like that? What if he was in a beat up old Dodge Omni or Chevy Cavelier?

    hmmmm?

Since there's this nagging please post message following me around on here...

Personally, I'd be happy to date a man who drives a Prius. In my case, it's a fun car I love tooling around in and the bonus is that it seems to attract geek attention. I just wish I had invested in some options. Not that bluetooth hookups or navi interest me, but it could've been used to keep the conversations going a bit longer while I tried to think of some way to reel them in.

(my cubicle has the little magnetic poetry doodads stuck all over....and googly eyes on the stapler)

Har! I have a bust of George Washington on my desk. I don't know what it is about it, but it makes me laugh. I must be whacked because no one else thinks he is as funny as I do. I bought him for $2 at a crafts store I got dragged into. There was a whole table display of them. They all looked so stoic and serious - hilarious... This is what it looks like, but mine is only about 4 inches tall:

Note to self: reconsider haircut advice and think about growing that pony-tail back. ;)

Actually, point well taken and I think what I was trying to say, and maybe not doing that great a job of doing it, was that it struck me that the complainant's seemingly defiant and 'in your face' attitude toward certain suggestions given in good faith was, in all likelihood, the genesis of his problem getting dates. I saw his pictures in the sticky thread and he's not a bad looking guy, I've seen perfectly lovely or even beautiful women with far less attractive men, so it's something other than his looks.

Hmmm, I've had a pony tail for the past dozen or so years, now my wife insists that I keep my hair loose (not shorter) on the grounds that it is a more youthful appearance. (I still pull my hair back for farm chores & exercise though...) I must say I haven't detected any increase or decrease in attention from the other gender as a result of ponytail v no tail.

OR I might add, as a result of driving a prius. However, when I got a '65 porsche (back in the day), even women who I had known for years wanted me to take them out for a drive...

I just knew this pic would come in handy one day. Stoic George may be, but he also made for a fetching representation of Zeus.

    My Story.
I'm 55 with a little extra around the middle & a touch of grey in my hair & a salt'n'pepper moustache. On July 4 2007 I hosted a BBQ @ my home:I furnished the location & my son'e guests furnished everything else altho I did steam some brats & a Polish sausage & cut-up a cantalope.I was wearing older jeans with a 'Charleston Crab House' T-shirt & older Reebok court shoes recycled from work. Among the guests was a coworker of an invited guest:a 33yo very shapely blonde. She asked who drove the Prius in the garage & was directed to me.After introducing herself she asked my how I liked it,etc. & proceeded to tell me how she'd test-driven one for a weekend, that she liked it,& how the regenerative braking charging system works. We chatted throughout the evening,& when she complained of feeling cool & wanting a hat I gave her a baseball/"gimme" hat I'd gotten with an order from Gerber knife co.,& we parted on friendly terms.
The next week I commented to my son that she was an attractive & intelligent young lady & had made an impression on me ("Wish I was 20 years younger.").Son gives me an odd look & replied "Don't let that stop you:she commented that she found you interesting." After picking my jaw off the floor, calling my son 5 kinds of liar & a week or so of soul-searching I contacted her.
We've been dating every since,& things are taking a serious turn.
