    Greetings.

Our Prius is still quite new to us (three weeks), but we finally had the chance to check the gas mileage (with our own math, instead of the on-board computer). Filled up in Oakland, CA and drove to Chico, CA (roughly a three-hour trip) driving primarily at the speed limit of 70 using cruise control, as well as took a short day trip from Chico to Table Mountain (above Oroville, CA) which is several miles of windy, steep roads.

Although we still had a half-tank left in the car, gas is a good 20 cents cheaper in Chico, and we wanted to see our MPG. SO very pleased with 48.36 mpg on this trip!

Will drive down to Los Angeles soon, and am looking forward to see what our gas mileage will be on that trip!

    Thanks.

It would be interesting for us to know what the MFD MPG reading was. On a tank by tank basis the MFD is a more accurate reading than your manual calculation. That's because of the fuel bladder; when pumps shut-off; temperature ... and how the "planets align"
Congrats on the new car and enjoy.
