IF it does decline in price, that'll be a plus for all drivers. Only time will tell.

In the grand scheme it would be a negative due to the associated costs of burning excess fossil fuel. :( I'd love for the price of fuels to go up as long as the profits are going to helpful causes and not to fund some CEO's extravagent lifestyle. lol

Not wanting to disagree with you, I’ll disagree and look forward IF the price of gas were to decline.

Well, luckily you live in Sacramento so the first half of that statement is true: the average price of unleaded regular is now $3.70.

I am afraid that the oil company CEO(s) are now shopping for new jets and yachts. :mad2:

Sorry, typo, the correct interest rate is 9.47%, that isn't the official cash rate but the rate the bank charges me for a standard variable mortgage.
While the US economy is in a death spiral our economy is running hot on a resources boom due to an expanding Asian economy.

This will only happen after land yacht and moster truck selling dealers have all gone bust. If I were you I'd be hoping for a continued increase.

If by "lifestyle" you mean 50-mile-per-day commutes, I think the only way that can continue is with highly efficient mass transit powered by sustainable energy.

Of course no matter WHAT the cost of gasoline, a huge chunk of it leaves our economy for good. Sure, some comes back as terrorist training and weapons used against us... but most is gone for good. The price doesn't matter nearly as much as where the money goes.

Local news said tonight gas will be $4.00 pretty soon. I.E. it's going up, not down. I gassed up at $3.59 tonight.

One week until April 15. US average is $3.34, it only needs to drop by $.69 in the next week to make Malorn's fantasy come true.

    It could happen. :flypig:

I don't mean to sound insulting, but GM makes junk. I have owned many new cars in my life, and with the possible exception of Fix Or Repair Daily, General Motors is the absolute worst!

Why do you think that they are constantly teetering on the brink of bankruptcy? Poorly made vehicles with the worst service network and customer relations department! They don't give a sh*t about their customers and treat them accordingly. GM? You can have them! I'll stick with Toyota or Honda!

As for gas being $2.50 or less by the end of April... Dream on, my man!

How High Will Gas Prices Go?

Gasoline prices retreat from record high - Oil & energy - MSNBC.com

Have you heard about what's going on with Iran and the increasing volitility of the world oil market? Did you know that the price of oil is currently at $108.50 per barrel?

I predict that the price of gasoline will increase until Memorial Day, at which point it may stabilize.

The price of gas (which is currently about $3.39 to $3.55 per gallon up here in Northeastern New York State) will rise to about $3.75 per gallon by Memorial Day!

Now $111 a barrel. Can't blame the whole thing on Opec considering gas companies are posting record profits. Avoid Exxon since they don't even invest in renewable energy technologies and don't seem to give a rats a$$ about global warming.

Exxon Mobil makes more than $10 billion - Jul. 27, 2006

I'm guessing they don't up production because the laws of supply and demand keep lining shareholders pockets with gold.

    Wow. Where's Malorn?

Well, if the price of gas keeps him off the forum, it isn't all bad.

I wish I could get $3.59/gallon gas.... Yesterday's fill-up was at $3.89/gallon. Only 11 cents more to $4.00/gallon.... Still waiting for the 50 cents/gallon drop (but not holding my breath).

There's still a month and a half to go till Memorial Day - I think you will see $4 by then.

My last fill up was $3.75 / gal last Tuesday. Gas won't drop to $3.65 in California by April 15, much less $2.65.

    But
