Forgive my noobishness but it seems there is SO many variables here to consider that I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this. I want to be able to control my ipod from my interface, possibly with a knob for faster scrolling (about 7000 song mp3 library), and steering wheel controls. I also want to be able to chose by artist/album but here is my confusion.

I have a 2005 prius with the JBL/Navi package and the new ipod classic 80GB.
Do ANY of the options satisfy these requirements? (I guess the ipod version compatibility would be the main concern) I seem to be reading mixed results through the forums as to what-can-do-what, and are there any other real options other than the DICE, AXIPTA or VIAS units? Thanks in advance...

I have a 2005 Pri and recently had the DICE installed to run my iPod.

I love it but only have around 800 songs and am not as demanding in my viewing. And frankly I haven't played around with the settings too much because the last time I did that I really screwed things up.

But of all my mods, this is easily my favorite. I probably didn't help much, uh?:(

I have a Vais (vaistech.com) SL2i, which has worked flawlessly from day one. Their new firmware, due any day, will add the ability to choose songs by artist or album, in addition to playlists...

Highly recommended; nice people too, easy to deal with, answer their phones (as opposed to the people at Coastal who I will never buy from again).

I actually had some issues with coastal myself way back when, haven't really been back since. I see the SL2i supports the ipod classic which I didn't notice before, does it come with the firmware upgrader? I see the option to buy it separately...
