ok i dont think this belongs in main forum, but here it is anyway
today i purchased an accord hybrid for 6600, of course its salvaged.

well, its not that bad of damage, only body, so ill have to replace hood bumper and windshield and both airbags.

Im buying it to replace my Scion xA, even though its so dependable I thought if i sell it i could buy a bigger car with almost the same gas mileage.

i have my scion listed on ebay now, hoping ill find someone to buy it.

does anyone know if the accord hybrid has a backup starter?
also i heard the accord hybrid has two compressors for the a/c, i was also wondering if this system has two refrigerant lines.

    thanks

Yeah I saw your other thread but didn't have any advice since I've never looked at salvaged cars.

Anyway, congrats and hope you can bring it back to life!!

I think the HAH only has one A/C compressor doesn't it? I don't recall it running off the HV battery and/or the engine. I thought that was only with the HCH-II.

Car and Driver in their review mentioned it has two compressors. The smaller one is electrically driven. See Honda Accord Hybrid - Road Test/Green Machines/Car Shopping/Hot Lists/Reviews/Car and Driver - Car And Driver.

"During our summer test motoring, the A/C was always running. The belt-drive compressor (75cc displacement) stops with the engine, but the electric compressor (15cc) maintains cabin coolness and keeps the Accord alive with enough vibration that you could think—in a Lexus anyway—the engine were still idling."

interior is just beautiful, leather 6 disc cd changer, its great.
the fit and finish of the interior is just great.
this isnt as bad as fixing the other two priuses i have, this car has a lot of aftermarket parts. im just stuck on getting the radiator / condenser and a/c lines, thats about it. i drove it into my garage like this, sounded like a prius kinda.

i have a good fender on the drivers side, and the hood will be replaced with a steel hood instead of aluminum.

the airbags are killer about 1000 for the set with SRS computer.

the engine is in great condition, just needs a new heated oxygen sensor.
IMA system checks out good, engine just throws a MAF circuit malfunction code ( missing MAF ) and O2 sensor code due to the O2 sensor missing on the front.

other than that, hopefully i get this car running in a week and get the body done.
