99.9 with ICE running?

    I was suprised yesterday when the energy monitor showed the ICE running and 99.9 current mpg. It was level road traveling in the high 40's. It happened a couple of times for several seconds at a time.

    I've had my Prius for 3 weeks now. I'm guessing (hoping) this is not unusual and others have seen the same thing?

    Yep. It's normal. It means you're not putting any load on the ICE, but for varying reasons, the ICE is still compelled to be on.

    I see that too, but much more often in the +60mph speed.

    That's my experience as well...
    Typically it'll be with my foot off of or very lightly on the accelerator (hyperstealth glide). Fuel flow will be either 0.0 or 0.1 g/hr the faster you're going the more likely you'll be to see the 99.9mpg since it's MPH/GPH=MPG
