I purchased the exact same car for $24,800 + tags. I live in DC and there is no tax on hybrids. I can't explain the other items, but that price seems a bit high.

Why don't you email the dealer and ask him.

My quote sheet spelled out all the added items, either port installed or dealer installed.

Paid $26110 for a '08 #6 with port installed paint protection shield ($349), rear bumper applique ($69). Didn't want the add-ons but I guess it's a 3M type product that once installed it's kind of tough to remove.

Purchased in Portland and I've got time & cost involved in going over to pick it up. My dealer wouldn't hold the car without payment in full. Tried to give them a $2000 down on my CC, no dice. Paid in full or we'll sell it to the next guy was his responce. They beat my local dealer by $1400. Guess I can drive to the coast and back for $1400.

    Hello,

I got My Touring Pkg 6 in the bay area for 25400+Tax (Included the factory installed carpet). I think the price is a little jacked up. However i am not sure what the market is like in the east coast.

    Good Luck!

What do you mean by "Included the factory installed carpet." Like carpet floor mats?

I know that back east they are selling Prius at MSRP, mih be the same in Kansas, as they probably don't have many Prius for sale. In California there is a stiff competition by dealers as there are tons of Prius being sold here, and tons of dealers competing for your dollar, so it's cheaper to buy here. I just paid $25,118 (plus tax, reg, etc) for my Prius Touring with package 6 today, will pick her up Thursday or Friday. I was thinking of buying it in Nashville, TN before, but they are not going below MSRP in TN, so I bought it here in CA. MSRP for the same car according to he Toyota website would have been $28,440.

Mine is the Touring Edition.. I meant factory floor mats which are for some reason added as an accessory @ $199 to the price.

Yup, I got mine form Concord Toyota. The next best quote i got was from Walnut Creek Toyota which was 26100 (400 more). That said i had to compromise on color, i really wanted Mag Grey and the next in line for me was classic silver and had to settle for Silver. AMG got the same Touring in Mag Grey from Concord Toyota for 25700. (I guess they might have had to do a dealer trade)

Thanks, I thought as much, but the "installed" part threw me off. The 199 price does seem like a rip off when you can buy them cheaper elsewhere.
