I own 3 guns. What does that make me? And one of 'em is an assault rifle. Don't worry though, it doesn't have a bayonet lug. :D I'm pretty damn green too, and fairly liberal in many ways (though a centrist at heart). You can't really paint prius owners one way or the other, this site is a testament to that (even this thread). Horses for courses.

That's just about as relevant as the fact that I own several bibles.

    ****

    Okay, I'll clarify.
The owning or not owning of guns does not signify one's worldview concerning the environment, living within one's means, frugality, global warming, or the price of oil.
Just as owning a bible does not signify one's belief system.

Only for the simple people who love to pigeonhole (: a neat category which usually fails to reflect actual complexities) others into a category. :)

Rae Vynn, I agree with you and Tripp. I own a bible and I'm 100% atheist. I love the pursuit of knowledge. :)

I'm can agree in the particulars but not the principle.
The problem is, because of the increased oil prices (thank GW for his adventures in foreign policy & post-Katrina profiteering by his good buddies) the world is faced with massive conversion of aerable land to produce biofuel, decreasing food supplies, increased food production costs, and now for your television entertainment, food riots.

If you guys want higher fuel prices to discourage your hitherto profligate use (waste) of oil, just tax the stuff at the pump. Why take it out on the rest of us?

Can you be a 58 year old yuppie who bought the prius for his 90 mile daily commute? If that's the deal, I guess I am. The Prius cost about what our Outback did, about the same room, no awd, but twice the mpgs. Cost was never an issue. I'm not particulatly eco or elitist. I ride my bike because it feels good. I don't throw trash on the road because that's stupid. If that's eco-elite, maybe I am.

    What a stupid article.

No, that's just Common Sense, with a good dose of Responsibility thrown in. Sadly, in our modern society, you're no longer required to have either
