Well I made the plunge today... Decided that it was time to get a "family" car but wanted something fun, so I signed it all off today, I'm picking it up either tommorow or Monday, 2008 "E" package, loaded with all the goodies.

I've been reading the forums like mad, and look forward to getting involved around here, hopefully my Prius habit doesn't get in the way of my Jeep habit. It won't take as much gas, that's for sure!

They don't have an "E" package in Canada. Are you getting the car from the states?

Well according to the spec sheet, the computer, my finance paperwork, the bill of sale, and the inventory sheet. "C" doesn't exist in Canada, but "E" does.

regardless, it's fully loaded with everything.

Interesting.. so does that mean the Premium Package is "D" and not "B"??

If so, we gotta add those letters to the registration so you can put an "E" in your package (cause it reads B at the moment)

When I walked into the steelership today, 3 different ones, when I said I wanted a "C" package, the one with the nav, they said "Oh you mean E"

Anyway I ended up finding one in stock -- according to dealers around here most people wait 3-4 months.

The Toyota web site & Prius brochure make no mention of "letter" packages, that's why I asked.

Well I got one step down from you then. It's a Special Edition Premium. It has everything but NAV. It'll be here a week from tomorrow. Mine is Barcelona Red, what colour is your car?

p.s. Personally I think the "letter" package designations are dumb. But I'm used to Ford's where you'd have an SE, SEL, Limited, etc., and options within each of those packages. I haven't even tried to figure out how the US Prius letters work. Too many packages, etc. Up here we have 3 - base, Spec Ed Prem, and Spec Ed Prem w/NAV. Simple :)

Silver... I wanted either Silver or Black or the metallic black, but to be honest ,Silver stays clean - and it was on the lot so I didn't have to wait!

Hey, another Canadian Prius owner! :canada: Congratulations!

Still don't know about the "E" designation, though. I wonder if that's just a dealership thing.... I'm a proud new owner, too, but as others have already mentioned, mine is a Special Edition Premium--like yours, also without navigation.

    Anyway, enjoy!

You're confusing trim levels with packages. Trim levels for Toyota are the "CE", "LE", "XLE" etc designations.

    Pkg A, B, C, D, E, F are simply packages. A is always the base model.

e.g. 2009 Corolla's Convenience Package is Pkg "B" and Enhanced Convenience Package is "C". Yaris' "Aero Package" is "F" and the Enhanced Convenience Package is "D"

    No, you're confusing me LOL

If you look on the brochure and online there's no mention of Pkg letters. Well for the Prius anyway. That's my point...

    :D

Yeah not for 2008. For 2004 and 2006, you would've seen a "B" Package and "C" Package. The other years, you would've seen "Premium Package" or "Navigation Package". For 2008, it's now "Premium Package w/ Navigation".
