new owner checking in. Picked up new Prius on Saturday:

    Series: Prius
Model: 1226 - Touring Sedan (CVT)
    Package: #6
    Model Year: 2008
    Transmission:
Continuously Var Transmission Color: Magnetic Gray Metallic
    Interior:
    Dark Gray Leather
Dealer Name: Limbaugh Toyota (Great to deal with in Birmingham, AL!)

I keep calling my wife using the Bluetooth hands free phone feature. I just can't stop telling her how cool this car is. I retired my '86 Chevy S10 with no A/C for this car. That's about as extreme as one can go on 4 wheels!

I too had a '68 S-10. Drove the wheels off before I went to the Chevy Cavalier then the Camry and now the Prius. I am looking at the BlueConnect mod but am a little afraid of running that Acc wire down the post with the airbag. Sounds a little scary that I might set it off.

    CONGRATULATIONS

How is the bluetooth phone feature working? I have yet to sync it up with my cell phone. Living in Rural Maine the reception is not the best. I tried doing the same with may Garmin GPS a few months back, but it was not worth the bother, too much static and cut outs. I will try with my Prius soon, just curious.

Bob: My S10 was taken off my auto insurance yesterday, and is now pouting out in the barn. I haven't been divorced, but if it is anything like trading in the 22 year old pickup for newer, sexier vehicle it might not be that bad...just kidding.

Nomad: The Bluetooth works great and was very easy to interface with my BlackBerry Pearl. If you have any connectivity problems I would guess that is between your phone and service provider, and not between the Prius and your Bluetooth device.

Thanks, yep, it is mostly with the service. The towers in Maine are lacking.

PS: on the running divorce joke. For the Prius haters, I tell them that I am marrying the ugly RICH wife this time.

Well stop already. I've been trying to call her, but every time I try her line is busy. :D

    Congrats!

    Isn't the bluetooth fun?
I called everyone I know about 3 times my first day. he he he

Have you programmed all your voice commands yet? Those are fun too!

    BTW...
How do you tell what transmission you have? I thought all 2008 package 6 trans were the same. No?

Followup: I was bored waiting for my son at a Doctor's appointment, so I setup my cell phone and the Prius Bluetooth. It worked just fine. Granted I was in Maine's largest city, Portland.
