Just bought my second prius 2008 and sold my 2005 to my daughter. I want to hook my IPOD to the aux jack and also charge it through the 12 volt plug. Are there any off the shelf products that will allow me to charge and plug into the aux jack at the same time?

Try Radio Shack, Circuit City or Best Buy. They sell both the car charger and audio cables.

Sure, all you need is car charger cable that plugs into the power outlet in the center consol (you know the regular cigarette lighter type deal) and has an iPod dock connector on the other end. There are plenty of such cables on the market.

You'll also need a AUX cable (3.5 mm male pin connectors on both ends.) One end goes in the headphone jack on your iPod and the other goes in the AUX jack in the center consol. Change the radio mode to AUX and you're set.

This connectivity doesn't allow you to control the iPod with the controls on the radio or steering wheel (except for the volume.) You still have to control playback with the iPod itself.

I'm sure that there are fancier integration kits that enable you to control at least some functions on the radio itself, but they're going to be both more costly and more difficult to install.
