Hello all, My wife and I just got home from the dealership putting $1000 down on a spot in line for a package 3 prius. I have enjoyed reading your posts and helped me make the decision to buy. I also learned a lot of things that helped the deal go down smoother. We settled on a price of 26,560, pretty much msrp with tax, tags, fees, and lunch for the sales team (probably anyway). We were given a estimate of 45 days but this particular dealer is the largest around and gets a pretty good allocation so we may get it sooner. Anyway thanks for the help so far and look forward to participating in the community in the future!

Glad to hear you have found information on the site. Now you get to play the waiting game, at least you can occupy thing time with looking through the forums. Let us know when you get it.

Your deal was fine; I just ordered one- 08 touring, driftwood pearl, cloth, option #5, XM radio and mats- $1,000 over invoice. They sent me information on invoice and the numbers were the same that are otherwise on line (Yahoo). Surprisingly there is not more than about 10% between invoice and msrp. My invoice was $26,099.50.
Also interesting they sent me the residual value on Prius for determining leasing terms. Residually, after 36 months Prius has a residual value for determining lease costs of 14,700. That seems to me to be really high.
Prius' are decent consumable investments. :)

hmm, 45 days would be around july 7th...u realize the 09's come out the following month which assuming you put a deposit on an 08 would make your 08 significantly less valued in a few years

I have thought of that, and if it actually slides out that long I may just get on the 09 list. Right now, though, the dealer can't accept orders for 09's so I don't have the option. Plus he said if they have 08's orders that run out of product, they get first priority on the 09 list so I am safe either way, I believe.

i did the same thing, then checking everyday as i did i found a spectra blue with the options i wanted on the dealers website. he didnt even know it was there, i gave him the s/n and he went to look and called me back in 5 mins to inform me i was correct and the rest is history...moral: u can always get your deposit back if you find something online at another dealer..keep your eyes open, it will come.
