24 Years of Gas Price and Mileage Actual Data

    Since 1984 I've been keeping track of my actual mileage and price paid for gas. Here's the data over my last 3 vehicles.

    Interesting...

    It looks like the seasonal swings in the Prius are more pronounced, but perhaps they are about the same percentage wise ?

    What impresses me is the slope on the $/gal curve over the last few years vs. the first 20. Got volatility?

    I think it's pretty close percentage wise (~20%). The Prius seems to be more sensitive to the cold because it forces the engine to run longer during warmup for emissions control.
