    hey guys,

sunday will mark 1 year with my prius. i have been lurking for a little bit longer than that, learning a ton from you guys. so first off, thanks.

the attached thumbnail was taken this afternoon. i filled the tank on may 8. with the exception of driving around aimlessly before filling up to get over 700 miles (the last pip never even got to flashing) this was strictly real life driving: my commute to work, taking kids to extracurriculars and random family stuff on the weekend. tires are at 43.5/41.5, AC was only used on 3 days (90+ degree heat with the family in the car, but man my heart sank as fast as the SOC as i watched the mpg numbers drop) and for these 3 wks i maintained some pretty heavy discipline with regards to overall speed and driving habits. i just wanted to set a personal record before the year was up.

thanks again for all the knowledge (you guys know who you are, even though you are probably too humble to admit it), and thanks for letting me share.

    Wow!!

That is an amazing first post. Congratulations on breaking 75 MPGs and 700 miles on a tank.

I cannot imagine that feat, particularly in my regular travels. I am still looking for my first 60 MPG tank (59.2 is my personal best).

My goal for this summer is to post a 60+ tank and/or a 600+ mile tank.

Can you fill us in a bit more on your typical commute and the roads in your area?

mostly 40mph roads, few stoplights, fairly flat.
