I just bought a 2002 prius and it does not have the navigation box under the drivers seat. I have read that you need some kind of wiring harness to install the stock unit. My car has a plug under the seat, Is it for the nav system or is it for a electric drivers seat. I found a nav unit from another prius is there a way to know if mine is wired for it?

    Welcome to the group!

Unfortunately the short answer is no.

While the plug may be for the NAV, there are so many other parts to add or change that it simply wouldn't be cost effective.

Get a Garmin Nuvi. It's a lot cheaper and a lot better. (I have both a Nuvi and the built-in system.) Get a beanbag mount for your Garmin and you'll be just as happy.

ITA! I have the Nuvi 680 with the free year of traffic, weather, gas prices and movie times and I LOVE it! Plus, you can change the voice...sometimes I like to hear Juan speaking to me in Spanish. ;)
