and asked if I was interested in trading cars. Gave a chuckle as a response. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this type of encounter.

I would hate to be the owner of one of those right now, i could only imagine how much it is to fill their tank. Prius power :D.

My wifes Doc had a new BMW X5 and offered to trade cars. He still has his X5 and I still have my 04 Prius.

I've been approached quite a few times. I used to drive a huge dodge ram pick up...and it was hard giving up the big car...but once I did, it was like a huge wieght was lifted off my shoulders.

I've gotten pretty good at giving the impromptu sales pitch...LOL...Toyota should be sending me checks in the mail really.

My second "car" is a camper van. We took it to the cottage a couple weeks ago. It didn't need to be filled up, but I thought I'd "top off" - It took $100 and still wasn't full!!! I burned half a tank that weekend. I could have gone back and forth a dozen times with the Prius.

True Story... Just this Wednesday I was filling up my prius at the Kroger fuel centre in Bowling Green, Ohio. Gas had dropped from about $4.20/gal to $3.99/gal in just a few days and the gas station had cars lined up at all 12 pumps... so I am fueling up with my usual 7-8 gallons of petrol and minding my own business when a woman who drives a Chevy TrailBlazer is pumping gas on th e other side of my pump... She pokes her head around the pump and yells at me "F**K YOU AND YOUR SMART A$$ CAR!!!"

Needless to say I was shocked and had at least a half dozen people standing around various pumps string at me as if I did something to prompt this... Without thinking I turned right back at her and said "Shutup you fat ugly wh**e !" I then put the pump nozzle back, closed my gas cap and backed out of the fuel centre in silence on battery power while she just glared at me... I am still dumbfounded by this one...

    Wow!

Luckily it was a woman huh? If a man pulled that crap the other customers would have had ring-side viewing of the ensuing altercation. Hahaha

I passed by the anti-prius at a pump yesterday. A Ferrari 360. Gave the guy a thumbs up. I couldn't help but notice I was able to get a 32 oz cola, and pay for it during the time he spent fueling it.

But, hey, it was a very nice looking Ferrari.

That's what people who have never driven one always seem to say ;)

I've never driven one myself, but I have drive some pretty nice luxury cars - $100k Mercedes (I forget the model), a 911 Porsche and they are nice and fun to drive. The Mercedes is far more fun than the Porsche as its just a complete luxury vehicle.

I'd love to drive a Ferrari. I could never see spending that kind of money on a car though.

exactly, ive driven a 2002 modena(not mine) and u cant relate the feeling to anything else, the handling is so precise and no matter how fast u are going the pedal still has room to go down even further.

I've driven a few sports cars, including a couple of Porsches. It's fun to just sit back in a Prius, and let the car drive itself--no shifting, no noise. Silky smooth and quiet.
A different experience. Like driving a spaceship.

wow. most folks are positive about my car. They ask me if I really get good mileage and I sow them the mfd usually around 53mpg. I then show them I filled with 7 or 8 gallons total and got over 400 miles on the tank.

I find a lot of appreciative glances these days. Chicks dig it too!

I was filling up today and watched a guy filling up a GM truck in front of me. He was laughing and crying at the same time. At the end, he climbed into the bed of the truck and had a passenger pass something to him through the rear sliding window. It was a camera and he was taking a picture of an astronomical fuel bill...
