Not as bad as what this cop did

Review completed in case of ex-cop who killed woman in crash

Kind of interesting how the other cops suddenly forgot how to write things down, or properly investigate, one of their own. Want to bet if *you* would get house arrest for 2 years if YOU were s***faced, got into a crash, and killed somebody?

I'm backing slowly away from this cop hater thread. My hands are where you can see them and I'm not making any sudden movements.

I feel that this is an appropriate response.

The police have little if any control on what the sentence/punishment for a crime will be.

oh.. i would have a field day if they assaulted me like that for giving him the finger.

he's better off shooting me.. either way.. court cases

what the guy did in that video is stupid.. he showed erratic behavior and instability right in front of him! i'm simply saying to give a finger while passing by.

it's a shitty system when you don't get punished like a normal citizen. like around here... a cop was crossing the double yellow and ran over some bicyclist... how fast do you need to be going through winding roads?

i was traveling around 60 to 70mph on that same road and i've missed motorcyclist headed strait at me... he overshot the turn.. he was going too fast and crossed in front of me.. where... frankly.. there was 0 side room.. so it was a timing game of missing his buddies who were riding the double yellow.. to swerving left so i didn't kill the single guy headed for my windshield... how fast could he have been going? it's only 45 through there...

and how does fining someone teach people a lesson?.. if anything it just makes life harder on people who are already running short on funds yet alone the will to keep moving on.

Well police aren't allowed to give you a good kicking any more because they get taken to court so they can only use the tools the state provides. For Police that is a monetary fine. How would you suggest they do it? Taking a licence just makes people drive unlicensed and the jails are full already.
The chance of getting a fine stops most people from offending if social pressure doesn't do the trick. Maybe they should have their name published in a shame file? For youth that becomes a badge of honour.
    Any ideas?
