Saw my first Prius PHEV "in the wild" yesterday!

    Driving the 405 northbound in the Long Beach/South Bay area, a SDGE (San Diego Gas & Electric) Prius PHEV. This is the first one I have seen outside a controlled environment like a renewable energy or future transportation conference.

    I must say, it gave me a bit of a thrill!

    I don't actually have a Prius, so no waving at all. I may well have had an envious look on my face, but that would have been about it. :redface:

    Ok, being new to this I have to ask a stupid question.... how do you know it's a PHEV? Please don't laugh....

    Well this particular one was wrapped in graphics proclaiming it to all the world. But it did have the tell-tale rubber grommet covering a plug socket in the back bumper.
