Well, according to a brief google survey there are complaints of this sort of thing happening on Mercedes, Nissans, Infinities, Volvos, Mazdas, Fords, Subarus, Chevys, Lincolns, Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis, Acuras, Jeeps, Hyundais, and I've personally had this issue on Saabs and Land Rovers.

The problem obviously lies in the fuel tank design of all these vehicles, and not in the poor condition, ignored maintenance and improper adjustment of pumps by cash strapped filling station owners. The answer to all these problems of course is a class action lawsuit against Toyota and their infernal fuel bladder designed for no good purpose other than to keep me from getting gas in my tank!

You aren't affiliated with the ambulance chasers at consumeraffairs by any chance are you? :suspicious:

BTW I'm sure your "damaged" Prius' value is now in the toilet, salvage/rebuilt ones are only selling on ebay for $16-22k now.

FeatherFoot, see what I mean? Those Ebay prices are the Ebay markup. I'll give you $13,000 to take that horrible, gas pump hazard off your hand and even trade our Echo and $7,000. You'll have a great 32/38 MPG Echo with a regular gas tank and your problems will be over.

Just post the VIN so we can check the records and life is good.
