You're in luck !! There are a grand total of NO places that require them.

If you actually meant "any place that sometimes provides them" consider all the most excelent places you're missing. So. Cal, sunny beaches, with NO huricanes, no mosquitoes that can carry you away, and low humidity on those 90 degree + days. And just because some places DON't offer them, doesn't mean that they're guaranteed an easy drive. Consider being stuck behind a Montana logging truck on a narrow mountain road ... you and 30 or 40 other cars ... no passing lane for 15 miles, and it's a motorhome, when you finally get to the passing lane. Then, consider that one can drive 80mph on over a 1,000 miles of the stretch between those 2 places (Interstate 15) ... but believe me, that doesn't mean you'd want to LIVE on a lot of those places ;)

I am new to this message board and the Prius world. For what it's worth I placed my Prius order on 2 days ago on June 30th by putting down $1,000 nonrefundable in Pittsburgh, PA. I was told I would be getting the 2009 at this point and would get it "probably before Christmas". He said it was pretty much the same as the 08 but about $400-$600 more. So that seems to go with the Prius "gossip/news" Godiva has received.

nonrefundable?!?! Too late now, but NEVER DO THAT!!!!

    1. Even if you bail on them at the last minute, they can sell the car to the next person on the list with a 1 minute phone call. There is NO risk to them.
    2. What happens if your financial situation changes, you don't get financing, your job moves across country or whatever, you are OUT $1000!
For anyone coming later - Do this at several dealers, tell them up front "First one with an acceptable package/color wins"
    1. Go outside the big metro areas if necessary
    2. Tell them you will not pay more than MSRP, get it in WRITING. Walk if they don't agree.
    3. Tell them you will give them a $500 REFUNDABLE deposit, get it in WRITING. Walk if they don't agree.
    4. AS SOON as you have a car: Call all the dealers that aren't 'first' to let them know you want to be removed from their waiting list and request your deposit back.
By the way, you can do this via email through their internet sales people, you don't have to go to the lots.
