    Hello, all.

I apologize in advance if this has been previously answered. I searched here and other sites, but failed to find a definitive answer.

I have a 2005, with the 4Gen navigation and the v4.2 disk. I am looking at upgrading to the v7.1 disk, but I have a couple of questions. First, is the "I Agree" screen replaced by the timed warning screen for the 4Gens upgrading to v7.1? Second, has anyone successfully made a hybrid disk with a v5.1 loading.kwi on the v7.1 data for the 4Gen navs? If so, which media (brand of DVD-ROM DL) was used? How many coasters can I expect before a good disk? I do have a known Gen4 v5.1 loading.kwi. If I can get rid of the "I Agree" screen, I might just skip the hybrid disk and use the physical speed wire switch instead of the soft override.

    Alrighty,

I plugged in my new 5.1/7.1 hybrid disk and it did the "loading software" screen as expected. The nav system came up and states it is on the version 7.1 disk. The maps are there, and I can scroll around them. However, I can't select a region or enter any destinations. The "change" button for selecting a region on the Destination screen beeps then does nothing. So I guess the questions are: Has anybody made a viable 5.1/7.1 disk? If so, what loading.kwi did you use? Should I go on up to the full 7.1 (loosing the override) or go back to the original 4.2? The kicker to this question is if the Gen 4 navs ditch the "I Agree" screen in v7.1.

Edit: It appears to have new streets and it is running very slow, compared to previously. It takes a long time to scroll the map.

One more edit: I am also looking for a copy of the Gen4 v6.1 loading.kwi. I have a 5.1 and a 7.1 and would like to look at the differences between these three files together.

I'm also looking for a Gen 5 v7.1 loading.kwi for my 2006 Prius. Would like to lose the "I agree" screen but not willing to pony up $300 for updated maps.

    Thanks,

    - HJ

Any luck locating this loading.kwi? I'm also looking to get rid of the I agree screen but could care less for the map updates.

    Thanks!

I have a 7.1 NAV DVD update in my 2005 Prius. The 7.1 NAV DVD still has the "I agree" screen, and it does not have the override function.

My Coastal lockpick device for the 2005 will press the "I agree" button, but it also tries to activate the non-existent override. Instead, it ends up toggling "adaptive volume control" on and off.

Hybrid discs I made wth 4.2 and 5.1 LOADING.KWI and 7.1 maps would boot, but I could never enter a destination address or change region. I could use memory points I had saved before inserting the hybrid disc, and the map would usually scroll as I drove, but I could not enter a new destination.

I spent a lot of time examining the files on my discs. It appears that 7.1 map data uses a different compression scheme for some of the files, which the earlier LOADING.KWI files do not understand.

Hey I'm not sure how you all are making your disk if you are using computers with windows XP or Vista, but Vista uses a different format than XP and that may be part of it. I may be way off base in my thoughts, but that's a flleting thought as I read your posts.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use a standard 7.1 disc and get one of those LockPicks from Coastal Electronics? With regards to the " I agree" screen on 7.1, if you press the Map key twice it makes the timed screen disappear almost instantly. I presume the same applies with Gen 4...?

I could really care less about the "I Agree" screen. What I want is full access even when the car is moving... yes, yes, with out cutting the speed wire.

So it is looking like the 7.1 version of the software has had enough changed made to the structure that the 4.1/5.1 loader will not fully function. So if I want full function back with the software I must loose the full use while moving. DARN

I have an 05 with the gen 4/ 7.1 dvd. I had installed the Costal lockpick when I had the 4.1 dvd and it worked ok but since I went to the 7.1 the lockpick only presses the "I agree" button and does nothing elso. Does any one know of an other way to over ride the lock out without cutting wires? Thanks.
