    Last October when i bought my 07 prius white all i got is insults on how my car looked, gas was around 2.89 a gallon. Well look who is Laughing now !!! All od a sudden no more insults..

    you gotta luv it !

    You got that right Gunny! I had both of ours in the driveway washing them and a resident walks his dog past us slowly looking. The guy gives the dog a tug and says " C'mon bud, let's find a clean place to pee!"

    I laughed so hard I almost sprayed them with the hose!

    LOL, the Prius I test drove (3 years ago) was white, and my husband said it looked like a giant marshmallow. Incidentally, I ended up getting a silver one, AND it caused 2 of my coworkers to trade their SUVs for hybrid SUVs. :D

    We (family) fondly refer to the car as "the clown car" or "the nerd car"............usually as we drive past the gas station. :D

    My brother used to refer to my Prius as "the golf cart". Not any more.

    My Dad made some jokes about getting electrocuted if I drive in the rain. Now I overhear him bragging about my mileage and how the car has kept it's resale value.

    Ha, I'm not even sure I understand the thread title. Ha! My car is mostly called "the spaceship" my boyfriend and my friends, because of it's gadgets and how quiet it is and how it zips through town. Not an insult though, a compliment!

    Yep... when we bought the Prius, it was 68¢/litre. Now it's $1.52/litre. While I did have some friends realise how cool and high tech the Prius is, there is always a few that have the "ugh looks like an econo-box" or "it's soo expensive". Ah well, they haven't heard of "short term pain for long term gain?"

    I heard all the usual insults as well when I bought the car in Nov 06. The Republicans had just lowered the gas prices to about $2.80 in their attempt to help themselves get re-elected. SUVs sales were up again and no longer a wait for Priuses. Buy that BMW or Infiniti G35, I heard many times. Don't buy that hippy car! It looks funny! It's a babe repeller, not a babe magnet! I heard it all. Then I got the carpool stickers in January 07. Gas is now well over $4.20. Well, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You know what? Chicks love my car.

    I've seen some commercial Priis with the magnetic signs (Pepsi, Bud, etc), pretty much all are the white.

    ya that happened to me as well, but gas was $1.60 a gallon. but soon the attention died down and i missed it...

    so i bought the Zenn and the attention is back!!

    i used to get names.. now it's a "that thing doesn't need fuel" kind of joke.... how am i supposed to collect gas money now :(

    It's nice to see all the other prii around here.. between VTA using them as outreach vehicles, Taxis, and AAA greenlight program... i see a lot of prii
